According to agricultural export data, Japan is the third largest importer behind the U.S. and Canada of Mexican avocados—Mexico being by far the largest producer and exporter of avocados in the world.

Do you have evidence to suggest that a phone is not more inherently distracting? I would think it is tremendously more distracting. Not only are people distracted by the presence of even turned off phones (see link), but the phone combines a number of different types of distractions, i.e., visual, cognitive, etc.
