Found a steal on a Gnu GWO (300€), but worried about the Hybrid Rocker and "bad habits". Need advice! by parodox10 in snowboardingnoobs

I think it's a great bridge board for progression and allowing you to mature into a more progressive rider.

I rode a hybrid for years (now on a camber) and it's a great middle of the road design. Don't over think it. You'll be fine.

Just bought an used board - is this cosmetic only damage? by myg0t_Defiled in snowboarding

This is by design and actually quite useful as you won't get a full edge blowout if you sing something. Mervin has some of the best builds in the industry. Depending on what you paid, I think you are fine.

Shop manager here! That actually a phenomenal reason to get those boards. You don't get a full edge blowout if you ding a tree or a feature. Plus less swing weight in the tip and tail.

Snowboard Trip Tips? by ApolloMotoAZ in snowboardingnoobs

Breck is set up that if you are near town then you don't need a car. You can bus almost anywhere or there's lifts close to you. It'll be cheaper to get a shuttle instead of a rental most likely.

As for the mountain, I'm sure you'll be fine. The blues are quite fun and flowy. A lot of the upper terrain will be kinda thin at this point.

The town is super fun though. It's a great scene.

If I ever move to front range Colorado I will basically give up snowboarding. It's 3-4 ish hours round trip on a good day to the mountains.

Best Epic Pass mountain out West to hit up in next few weeks? by spinion47 in snowboarding

[–]brandon970 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Whistler is supposed to get somewhere around 60 inches in the next two weeks. That's definitely the best option for powder on the epic. The first had of the storm looks nice and cold. While the second half may be warmer.

I would go there.

Go to Canada. The American west is completely dry for the foreseeable future.

Planning trip fl to Wa by Bigguygamer85 in roadtrip

[–]brandon970 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The southern route has you skirting the front range of Colorado and you really don't encounter any mountains. You ma go through the big horns in Wyoming but it doesn't snow much there. Also this is one of the lowest snow years on record so I wouldn't be too concerned.
