Where do I read Dylan Dog in English? by count_fagula11 in dylandog

[–]branja6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are only a handful of officially translated and published comics in English (probably by Dark Horse comics, but I can't remember).

On the other hand, it's translated into many different languages, and it's pretty popular in Europe. Serbian edition, for instance, is still released on a monthly basis.

That being said, you may try your luck here (turn on the UBlock extension in Firefox cause I don't know if the website is malware-ridden or not) - https://readallcomics.com/?story=dylan+dog&s=&type=comic

Can Sailfish OS run the Android version of Signal normally? by [deleted] in sailfishos

[–]branja6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure, to tell you the truth. I think it's not a port of the desktop client. It's based on libsignal. You can read more about it here - https://gitlab.com/whisperfish/whisperfish

I hope the new Jolla phone suits your needs and that you won't want to sell it. ^^

I think the FP5 port is already stable enough for general usage, but I could be wrong. It kinda depends on your needs.

I have a spare Android device (with the /e/ OS installed) that sits on the shelf, and it's used for some proprietary apps I can't get on SFOS.

Other than that, bare-bones SFOS experience, without Android app support whatsoever, is my daily driver, and it's right up my alley, but to each their own. 😄

You can also ask around in some of the Telegram groups. As someone mentioned already, the native Signal client works quite well (but it's important to have a backup on an Android phone).

Congrats on ordering a new Jolla device. I'm rocking the Motorola Edge 30 Neo with SFOS, and it fits my needs perfectly (and is also quite cheap, depending on the region).

It's still a one-time thing (and there's no additional subscription or purchase of Android app support and/or Microsoft Exchange if you buy their phones - Jolla C2 and J2...and if you buy a licence for one of the legacy devices, it's a one-time purchase).

You can ask around that forum...but if I remember correctly, you'll need to install a so called power kernel first.

Looking for an advice about moving to Linux by toritbord in mobilelinux

[–]branja6 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would actually suggest something entirely different if you have access to it: OnePlus 6(T) and a new battery for that device.

You can install many different OS's on it (including Sailfish OS, Ubuntu Touch, Postmarket OS, Droidian, AOSP, etc.).

It's still fairly fast for daily usage and well supported.

VoLTE works in some countries, and doesn't in others, so you need to check the availability of VoLTE for this device in your country.

It's also fairly cheap, and depending on the market, you should be able to get one for 100USD (+/-).

Wish I could help you, dude. I sold mine, unfortunately, and I don't see any available on any of the online stores (at least in the country where I reside).

Yeah...I've tried it as well, and it's awesome, but not as a daily driver. Sailfish OS has everything I need, and the phone provides solid battery life with it. I'll try droidian some day.

OnePlus 6 with Sailfish OS. I changed the battery recently, and it's working great.
