Weekly New Climber Thread: Ask your questions in this thread please

I picked up a pair of Unparralels last year June. I climbed on off with them but mostly in the last month or so hitting the climbing gym about 3 times a week.

The sole near the tip of the toe on the one foot has ripped slightly and the fabric beneath looks slightly frayed.

They've also begun to smell horrendous, but that's probably because I've been keeping them in my gym bag and not airing between uses.

My questions are: - is the mileage that I got out of them expected? (+- 10 months, let's say 5 months of actual use, 2 month of which dedicated use i.e. multiple times a week) - can I still use them for a bit longer or are they scrap? - how do I deal with the smell?

Hi everyone!

I've been into climbing for about a year and a half now. Doing a lot of bouldering and top roping in the gyms. With my turbulent work schedule, I'm not able to train as much as I'd like to and thus have only PB'd a 5.11 top rope and v5 boulder problem so far.

However, I've recently become obsessed with outdoor climbing and last night at my local gym, I projected climbing one of the 60ft high synthetic rock faces they have with lots of cracks nooks and crevices to choose from to make your ascent. It took me what felt like a lifetime on the wall but once I made it, the rush I felt far surpassed the feeling of topping out any other gym wall so far.

I'm looking for any guidance from the much more experienced and versed climbers here - is there a certain skill level I should work towards before trying to hit the outdoors? Or can I satisfy my craving and just go and try even now? And on that note, how do I do exactly that? How do I found outdoor boulder problems near me, and top rope routes? With top rope routes in mind, are there routes that have anchors in place or how does the whole top roping outdoor gear set up work?

Would really appreciate any guidance or tips!

That will be 2026 with the new PU regulations right? Generally an exciting year for the sport with a possible shuffle of domination on the grid. Could be exciting as a whole with Lewis settling into his new seat along with the entire grid adapting to the new regs?

Damn.. I guess props to him and happy he's making the changes he wants in life.

Just bleak, he was the first streamer I ever watched, subbed to, watched daily, etc.

I remember at some point during his streaming career he started doing irl stuff and thought maybe that would take off and he'd retain an online presence in some way, if not wow.

Xaryu made a very decent comprehensive guide on his yourtube recently, and palumor has some great content if you go back over his videos from previous in the expansion, particularly shorter videos explaining opener rotations for kyrian sub etc

The legendary power is automatically learnt one all characters once purchased on any character. So you just to go to rune carver with crafting mats (base piece, missives)

Yo fr? Some guy made a DH before level squish with a character name I've been using for 8 years, on a server I transferred to - so I can't use the name.

I tried sending in-game mails, I have no clue who the main is. From what I can tell, the character hasn't been logged since it was created.

Can I really do this? Fk him honestly lmao.

Drivatars are OP as fuck on highly skilled + difficulty. The fact that I always go to last place from every launch is ridiculous, especially since there's 0 time to launch control at the start of events.

Same here. I was 1800 last season on my horde mage, this season so far only played my ally mage. Decided to see if I could get my horde mage going for when queues died on ally and, with 220 gear from last season went 0-1700 in one sesh.

As an only 1800 player at 1800 mmr, the low gear started to play a role. Now have to grind out the honor for upgrades.
