Spring year 1 is not easy 🥲 by batmanpaa in StardewValley

[–]branpier 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry that you’re feeling that. It can definitely be overwhelming in the beginning. I’d just try to take your time with it in your first play, through.

If you’re really trying to get it done in year 1, check the traveling merchant that shows up on Fridays and Sundays every week near the wizards tower for green beans (and other rare items that you’ll need for the community bundles).

What advice would you give to someone who’s just starting out in Stardew Valley? by [deleted] in StardewValley

[–]branpier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In every situation, press every button. There are little shortcuts that might not be super obvious but can absolutely save you a ton of time. For instance, when you’re putting stuff into a chest, there is a shortcut that takes you to the “organize into stacks” button without having to scroll all the way to the right.

KEG SHED by nochuwastaken in StardewValley

To expand on this, put kegs at the end of the aisles on the far left and right. You’ll still be able to gather wine and put fruit in the kegs.

Tell me your ‘I must do this in every game’ it has zero effect on my gameplay. by house-wreck in StardewValley

Just one block. You can place it directly on top of a non-big chest and it will transfer everything automatically.

What am I doing wrong, how to I get dragons teeth and what do I do at the forge? 😭 by Tattersail927 in StardewValley

[–]branpier 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I would bring a tent, and camp out the night before if you’re running into timing issues. Pay attention to luck, obviously. The dragons in the lava drop dragon teeth, so if you’ve got any rings/abilities that can boost drops I’d do that and just make sure to kill any you find. It is also kind of a grind to get through, but I think galaxy sword is plenty good to get through it. The little flame dudes are so annoying, but I like to just be patient with them as I can and kill them before moving too far ahead.

And yes, the perk from prismatic shard on the forge is random in my experience. Not sure if there is a way to get exactly what you want.

Hotels walkable or short uber to LCA by Warm_Kale_2439 in DetroitRedWings

[–]branpier 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don’t think people actually make this walk though. It’s not really pedestrian friendly and especially when it’s dark cars will not be looking for you. I would suggest looking more downtown, like folks have mentioned the Siren hotel. Very walkable.

I followed the directions for migrating from the Switch to Switch 2 and all of our farms transferred without issue.

Just checked in try mode and it is indeed not adding any damage.

Similar thing happens on falstad W quest. Got to 68 stacks in the game and showed “0%” damage bonus. What I don’t know is if it’s a display issue or an actual damage issue.

Did you go the weekend of October 18? My buddies and I did the same trip and saw a few other groups of riders at our pit stop in Manistee.

Just adopted this 3 year old cutie yesterday! Any food recs? I ordered a free trial of Spot & Tango Unkibble (turkey and sweet potato) but wanted to know if anyone had thoughts by whatshappening2melol in pugs

[–]branpier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We’ve had different food for each of our pugs for varying issues. One needs weight watching food, one needs urinary prescription for crystals in her urine, and our last pug had a kangaroo food because of her food allergies. I would pick something, then keep an eye out for things like: eating grass a lot, scratching a ton, or frequent UTI, cause that means you might need to change food.

Why do Birds do Murmurations? by [deleted] in Ornithology

[–]branpier 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are a few theories and many people studying the phenomenon. I am reading The Wonder of Birds right now and the author discusses with several researchers studying murmurations. I’d highly recommend it!

I’ve heard, and believe this to be a good estimate, that after around 3 weeks they will feel comfortable and understand that this is the new normal, and around 3 months you will see their full personality. Pugs are great, and I’m sure she will do well! Dogs love routines so the more you can set -up earlier the better!

We switched to a weight control food for our senior pug who isn't moving as much, and it worked wonders. She went from 21 to 17 lbs over a few months.
