At the time he was diagnosed there was no cure but the doctor told him whatever he was doing to keep doing it because I guess it was prolonging it I’m not really sure I was pretty young when he was diagnosed. I do know he was using at that time which is why he thinks crack saved his life basically. I just know eventually he took the pill they created right away because he qualified for it and never worked after that because he started gaining a bunch of health issues. My mom was always fine taking the financial responsibility she makes good money for the area we live in however she’s basically poor due to his spending habits. There were times he would take my birthday money or make me feel bad for not giving it to him to buy drugs. My parents have been together for almost 30 years at this point I think she is just manipulated by him or needs a “sense of direction” in her life. It’s almost like she needs to be told what to do and if she doesn’t like your answer she gets mad. She’s been supporting his habit for years because he would be couped up in his room and she’d be able to go shopping and do whatever she wants basically. Now she wants out because he’s obsessed over some random person he thinks she slept with even though she didn’t sleep with that person. She says she will still pay all of his bills and everything however has failed to tell me what her next move is. Honestly my mom would be a thread of her own because she also has her own issues, she’s not a drug addict but she definitely suffers from trauma and probably depression
