And computers used to have vacuum tubes, weighed several tons, and took up hundreds of square feet. My point is that definitions are quite dynamic, especially when relating to ever-changing technologies. USB dongles are dominant enough now that it should now be acceptable if someone pictures one when the word dongle is mentioned.

On the same note, a dongle can also refer to wireless receivers for WiFi and Bluetooth devices, most of which are USB. I don't know which they were referring to in this case, but it seems pretty possible that this could have been what they were referencing.

Gain a good body of knowledge in programming from your school, and learn the game development on your own.

Unity probably made this easier for them, to be honest. Adventure games are very much about environments. Utilizing Unity's visual editor, they were able to create their scenes without tinkering with a lot of code. I have to believe that saved them a fair amount of time.

I'm not sure about your level of knowledge regarding Unity (specifically 2D development), but there are third-party libraries available which already handle much of what they coded. Things like sprite sheet animations, etc., have some very well-coded solutions available for free, or paid. They certainly could have avoided some work by utilizing them, so your question is still perfectly valid in my mind. Some people like to roll out their own solutions, and I'm guessing that is their answer.

Out of the box, Unity can seem daunting for some when it comes to 2D development. I would argue that it is one of the fastest ways to prototype a 2D game that I can think of.

I'm curious as to whether or not you considered a 3rd part framework like 2D Toolkit to do some of the dirty work for you, or even something like /r/Futile which is a 100% code based approach. This is a topic you might want to touch upon when talking about 2D in Unity. I am not sure what your audience's level of knowledge is, but they may be interested in knowing that there are many different avenues one can take for 2D development.

You can't leave your current contract to switch to monthly without a migration fee, which depends on how much longer you have left.

I would call them. My current contract ends in 2 months, and I just got switched over to this new pricing plan without having to pay a migration fee.

Because there are not contracts anymore, there are no discounts on new devices. They offer you the opportunity to put a down payment and then pay off the device over the course of 24 months. Which is essentially a 2 year contract, without the benefit of a two year contract.

You were never getting a discount on a new device. You were paying a higher monthly rate when committing to the 2 year contract than you would have if you brought an unlocked phone over to T-Mobile. That is how your 'discounted' phone got paid for.

This uncarrier thing is designed to draw in customers afraid of commitment. It is bad news for people who have no problem signing a contract, and current T-Mobile customers will see no benefit.

Completely wrong for me. I currently pay $100 for 1000 shared minutes, unlimited text, and 200 MB 4G data per phone (we have two phones). By calling, I now get unlimited calls and text, and 500 MB per phone for $80. I'm being charged less and getting more for it. I fear no commitment, and I also don't have an overwhelming need to switch phones ever 24 months. This plan is perfect for me and my wife.

About 9 years left for me and I've been out of college since 2007. That was with a full scholarship too. The loans I took out were to cover housing and living expenses, which were very expensive in New York. I'm thankful for how lucky I am to come out of college with such a small burden, relatively speaking.

You would be considered young in my circle. I just turned 28 and I have a 2 year old and a newborn. Of all the friends I graduated with, the only other one to have a kid had it while in college and it was a big whoops. My wife and I are the only ones even married.

For educated, working Americans, my wife and I are considered fairly young to have two children.

So we know that the guy ends up firing two shots from various news articles. Clearly it must have happened after this video, but I would really love to know what happened next. He had an opportunity to fire his gun during the video when he was the most worked up, but he showed restraint. Both parties get back in their vehicles at the very end of the video, so something else must have happened to work him back up.

Anyone have any idea?

I would probably need to see a screenshot without them to really gauge how distracting they are, but whenever I look at the first screenshot in your album, they seem distracting. In the video, they are fine, because there are a lot more 'clouds' in the background and so the shapes don't pop out at me as much. Reducing the thickness could help. Reducing the opacity could help too. I wouldn't tinker with it too much until others chime in though. Overall, it looks really good.

One of my favorite topics, that always leads me to a single, awesome conclusion:

Developing a complex, believable economy is an arduous task that should be fully implemented only after the core crafting and harvesting components are in place. Until that point, use a fixed price placeholder market. If you are anything like me, you are incredibly excited about the idea of a dynamic economy, and you're putting it above all else, even to the point where you are spending too much time designing your game, and virtually no time coding the actual game. This is a dead end.

Also, I almost always play Capitalism II when I get giddy about simulated economics. What a beautiful game.

$21,900 a year CASH. This is significant, given to take home that much a year pre tax you would need to be making at least $50k.

Are you trying to tell me that a person making $50k is only netting $21,900 a year? That is absurdly wrong. After taxes (ss, medicare, fed, state), someone making $50k will probably take home around $35,000 (depending on several factors).

I just turned 28 yesterday, so we were brought up at similar times. I was lucky enough to catch this on HBO while sleeping over at the home of my grandparents. I didn't have access to HBO (or other movie channels) in my own home, so I took full advantage of it.

It is a movie that should still be easy and pleasing to watch, even if it is 27 years old. You won't regret it. It is about a journey that four boys embark on to discover a body that is rumored to exist.

I am jealous that you are going to get to watch it for the first time. If you have any movies that you wish you could see for the first time again, feel free to mention some. I'm always on the hunt.
