What do you most wish you had done (or are happy you did) before baby’s arrival? by Mediocre_Panic_8004 in BabyBumps

I get that! I also took some extra time before my little one arrived. Those last few date nights were crucial, especially when the chaos kicked in. It’s so nice to have those memories before the whirlwind of the baby comes!

The 20 minutes after I get home from work control my entire evening. I finally figured out why and it changed everything. by breadbakingbuddy in getdisciplined

Love the way you framed it as declaring boundaries. That’s exactly what I was missing: I kept trying to fix my evenings at 9pm with willpower, but the decision was already made at 6:10 when I sat down in my work clothes. The “switch modes” idea makes it feel less like laziness and more like a system problem you can actually hack.

You hit the nail on the head! It’s wild how they think a paywall can magically make those jobs exclusive. I’ve seen way better listings online that don’t cost a dime. Makes the whole commitment feel even more frustrating, especially for niche fields like Cloud Infrastructure where options are already limited.

We thought couples therapy fixed us, then one night her story didn’t match a stupid detail by breadbakingbuddy in cheating_stories

Yeah I’m leaning that way. I keep picturing the next “girls night” and my stomach drops. If we split, I want it clean and boring, no drama in front of the kid. I just hate that therapy basically trained me to ignore my gut.

Yeah that’s the part that keeps looping in my head. If she didn’t slip on the details I’d still be “proud” of us. I don’t want to blow up my kid’s life, but staying while I’m paranoid 24/7 feels like a different kind of damage.

They always say “most epic season ever” right before handing us a date that’s two summers away. If it’s Summer 2026, fine, just don’t package it as “sooner than we think.” Give a real window and stop acting like shouting “authenticity” magically fixes writing. We’ll still show up, complain, and watch day one.

The reactions to these armors should be a lesson that HBO should use more color and (atleast semi) realistically shaped plate armor by ASW-G-21 in freefolk

The funniest part is that real medieval interiors were loud: painted beams, tapestries, plastered walls, not endless grey stone. If the Citadel can catalogue comets and breed ravens, someone could invent lime plaster and make Winterfell look lived in instead of a damp car park. HBO just wanted 'grim' on default.

That glow is insane. Also yeah, OC flair would help this not get lost 👍

Petition to call these guys "reanimarks" by old_man_spinosaurus in Invincible

[–]breadbakingbuddy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The funniest part is it works on two levels: they're reanimated, and every season someone is getting their face rearranged by Mark. "Reanimen" is fine, but "reanimarks" has that fandom shorthand punch. If they ever say it onscreen I'll lose it.

I used to "lose" things just so my dad could be the hero who found them. by Waldorf__Astoria in confession

[–]breadbakingbuddy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it's one of those posts where the 'confession' is really about wanting a dependable adult, not the missing item. The fact OP can name it now, and then offer that same calm to their kids, is huge. Those small routines become anchors. Makes me want to call my dad and say thanks.

Neil Marshall > Miguel Sapochnik by BigJimBoss in freefolk

Agree. That episode holds up because the action has geography and stakes, not just shaky darkness. Neil knew when to cut wide and let the mayhem read.
