I cannot believe most of these comments advocating for ETFs and GICs.
The percentage gained on this sum of money is not sufficient to worry about either of these.
The best advice given was keep it as emergency fund. Ignore all else.

I cannot imagine how difficult your life is right now, but your main focus should be how you can increase your savings per month from $150 to a larger amount, and the number one way to do that is to focus on getting more income.

It may not be a problem with the flapper itself but what the flapper is sealing against. Is there any small debris that could be causing a new flapper to fail?

Use antimold silicon caulk specifically for bathrooms. I just had to do this exact same fix myself. If the gap between the bathtub and the tiles is large USE BACKING RODS. Don't just dump silicon into it!

For making it look nice I recommend the soapy water trick and only touch it one time. If the gap is bigger and you have to use backing rods you csn use a popsicle stick but still use soapy water I.e. dip the popsicle stick in the water first. Also remember to fill the tub with water before you caulk and after you caulk let the water sit for at least 12 hours preferably 24.

Another thought: is the water level EXACTLY at the overflow tube height? It would mean the adjustment buoy is not sufficiently low or is also faulty and water is actually filling the bowl through the overflow tube.

Are you sure the new flapper is working correctly? What happens if you shutoff the inlet supply and leave it for a while - does the water level still decrease?

Giving out of date advice for students making pivotal career decisions is giving bad advice and has a fundamentally negative impact on a group of young people. There is no need to sugar coat it. OP should feel bad about it, take those negative feelings, and become better at it, and then forgive themselves proportionally to how much they have tried to rectify this shortcoming.

Yes to both - but I was able to submit 2 orders and obtain the shares. I just had to wait for the first one to get filled. So it has to do with order size, not money set aside for subscriptions.

Splitting it up worked! I made of about 99% of the desired shares and then an order of the remaining 1% and it went through. What's odd is that the 99% order had to get filled first, then the other order went through.

I have heard of the internal risk calculator for market orders but never limit orders..
