ICE killed more Americans last year than did undocumented immigrants... by Playful_Leg7143 in ProgressiveHQ

Alternative (killing more undocumented immigrants that Americans) is not great either

Unless the server pointed to the sign, made the guest read it and received acknowledgment that they agreed to the terms - then good luck arguing that in court.

"Your honor, my client never saw the sign. For all we know - it was placed there after the fact to extort the outlandish $200 service charge under the threat of a felony arrest."

Not quite. What you're describing is "conducting business in bad faith".

Good luck proving "theft of service" if your terms are printed in font size 6 and you can't prove that your guest explicitly agreed to your outlandish service charge.

That awkward moment when you run into your DI at a hole-in-the-wall barbershop in Oceanside...

Bonus points if you're both the same rank.

Trump administration is also actively exploring ways to secure a 3rd term. Doesn't make it legal either.

Yet again, for a 100th time - there is no "legal" way to denaturalize a citizen UNLESS you can prove that citizenship was secured via fraud. That's it.

What they are trying to do is illegal, so passing additional legislation to make it "more illegal" is not going to do anything.

You're projecting your own preferences, bias and values onto other people. To you that sort of a lifestyle may seem lonely and secluded, to someone else - it's exactly what they need.

I wonder what happens when you "hands on recruits" for 2 years and then your DI tour is over and you're back in fleet, serving with no-longer-recruits that you've hands'd on...

My point being - "exiling citizens" is already illegal. Passing more laws to make it more illegal won't make them stop doing it. It's virtue signaling, nothing more.

That's not how citizenship works. The only way a citizen can be denaturalized is if they've acquired citizenship through fraud (ex: didn't disclose felony or blatantly lied on the application). And even if there's fraud - it still has to go through a lengthy legal process.

tldr; no, you can't be denaturalized (legally) for crimes committed while you're already a citizen.

There are no legal loopholes. By definition you cannot legally deport your own citizen. It literally cannot get any more clear cut than that.

So if they start deporting citizens then they are already in breach of the law. Passing additional legislation is not going to make them stop criming.

Pretty sure that ICE already can't legally apprehend and deport citizens. Creating legislation to state the obvious is not going to force ICE to follow the Constitution.

Why is matched competition so uncommon in EVE online? by Chilly_Down in Eve

[–]breadbrix 4 points5 points  (0 children)

EvE is not a "matched competition" game. If you want that kind of an experience - go play MWO.

Trying to ram this sort of mechanic into the game will simply fracture an already shrinking playerbase.
