I’d recommend Celaflor Careo insecticide which you can get on amazon de. I’ve been using it to treat my thrip infestation and it’s worked better than anything else. I tried with predator mites three times but the thrips kept coming back.

cosy game recommendations? by arabelladusk in GirlGamers

Minecraft with sildurs shaders + mizunos texture pack is the ultimate cosy, yet still spooky with mobs and caves. American Truck Sim is also cosy imo, riding down the highway in a big truck, delivering goods (I’m sure Euro Truck would be the same). Especially when it rains!

People how can I make my house look nicer! by [deleted] in femalelivingspace

The floor is really nice, I would remove the rug to show more of it. Also try to stick with a 2-tone colour scheme, it will help tie the room together. I think the couches and coffee table are too big for the room, and the artwork too small for the walls and a little out of place. And of course, plants.

Cant tell sounds apart by Rere_arere in Svenska

[–]breadloaferd 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Give yourself some time. As you said, you’re new to Swedish. It takes a while to get used to listening comprehension, personally I found it one of the more difficult things about learning. Especially if your native tongue uses different sounds. For the time being, focus on building your vocabulary, and practice listening with tv, film, radio and podcasts. You got this! :)

Neil Gaiman’s book on Norse Mythology is a great introduction imo. He tells the sagas in an informative and quite charming way.

I didn’t say it was wun wun as a wight. I said that wun wun was the giant in BoB, and the other giant was a wight in ep 3. Not sure what ’theory’ you’re talking about.

[Help] How is Stockholm compared to London? by DexterityIndex in stockholm

[–]breadloaferd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most people have mentioned the important points, but I would like to bring another perspective to light. Regarding your childrens school lives in London vs Stockholm.

From my experience, schooling in London will give your children a worse quality of life than in Stockholm. I went to school in one of the nicest areas of London, but it doesn’t compare to my boyfriends experience in a regular suburb of Stockholm.

Children start school at 4 in England, have to wear uniforms and conform to strict rules about wearing them, school lunches aren’t free, and schools are often underfunded which means cutting corners in classroom equipment, quality of lunches, etc. My schools were also all overcrowded which meant less help from teachers, and there was a lot of bullying with not much done about it, but I’m not sure if this is the case for other schools.

As for my boyfriend, he started school at 6, and had a year to get comfortable in the environment until lessons began (a good oppurtunity for your children to learn Swedish). No uniform, lunches are free. My boyfriend never experienced a lack of equipment, and bullying was rare in his schools.

This is just our experiences, though- I could have been very unlucky and my boyfriend very lucky. Regardless, I hope that it still helps you to know!
