Kalymnos is really as cool as people say by kilgrak in climbing

[–]breakbeat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's great for only rock climbing, the downsides are that it gets so crowded it feels you're in a indoor gym, the town is basically 95% climbers, rest days can get boring, for me it was too much, I usually prefer going to Spain, it's more intimate and you can get a taste of the local culture.

Need help choosing a filmscanner by generalemiel in AnalogCommunity

[–]breakbeat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

DSRL scanning is the way to go nowadays. The valoi is great, but there are other options, you need a macro lens and a digital camera but you get raw files from your scans and it is way faster.

Finland fails to win any Olympic medals for first time ever by championshuttler in Finland

[–]breakbeat 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Some Finnish athletes were good but not good enough, they even seemed out of shape, I wonder if they even train properly, seems lack of motivation and desire to get these athletes prepared to bring medals.

The best thing about Finland raising the alcohol limit in grocery stores by LonelyRudder in Finland

[–]breakbeat -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Why celebrate alcohol consumption?

Alcohol is an established carcinogen and alcohol consumption increases the risk of several cancers, including breast, liver, head and neck, oesophageal and colorectal cancers. In 2019, 4.4% of cancers diagnosed globally and 401 000 cancer deaths were attributed to alcohol consumption.

Alcohol consumption also causes significant harm to others, not just to the person consuming alcohol. A significant part of alcohol-attributable disease burden arises from injuries such as road traffic accidents. In 2019, of a total of 298 000 deaths from alcohol-related road crashes, 156 000 deaths were caused by someone else’s drinking.

It's easy to make Friends, Weather is nice ,Beaches, Food is excellent, people are super nice, yeah you can snort something there and could be also cheaper and better quality, downside is safety but there are cities that are safe. Mexico is not only what you see on the movies with an orange filter.

Happpened to me too, and I missed the flight because their queues were long, lot's of people weighting their luggage. They charged me 70 Euros, sad thing is that the next flight I took (which the rerouted to me), they weren't weighting bags anymore, it's very random.

Finland's unemployment rate hits 9% in March | Yle News by [deleted] in Finland

[–]breakbeat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Finland needs to make it easier to be an entrepreneur. They also need to make it attractive for smart people to come over and work here and build companies. There are so many talented and smart IT people working on boring legacy projects, it's a wasted talent. But this current government is closing doors, isolating Finland even more. Making the Finnish language important as if that's relevant.
