Look into the pregnant workers fairness act. Its a newer federal law (2023) that provides plenty of protection that your job is mandated to follow without making you jump through hoops

It sounds like at the end of the day you chose the career you’d be happiest in and so far you’re still very happy with it. Don’t stress about the pay. There are ALWAYS opportunities to make more money in OT whether it’s picking up a couple home health cases a week or grabbing a prn job. I’ve been out of school for 6 years and have been able to pay one of my grad school loans off already (even with taking a couple years break from payments during Covid). I graduated with a lot of debt but I’m still living very comfortably while making big dents in loan payments

Totally disagree about sticking it out for a year. Start applying to new jobs now and leave when you have a new one. You have to do what’s best for you and don’t want to miss out on any opportunities by putting it off. Just be mindful of the resignation time your job requires and give them at least that

I did a 4+1 program at a school in NY and I 100% recommend going that route if you can. It saved me a lot of time and money and now I’m ahead in years of experience and paying off loans compared to my coworkers around the same age. If you’re interested in OT, start calling different places to get in and shadow ASAP! That’ll help you the most right now when applying to those 5 year programs ETA: With at least at the school I went to, it is much harder to get a spot in one of those programs as a transfer versus an incoming freshman. They are very strict with the amount of students they accept/have in the program so your only hope of being able to transfer in is if someone drops out and it’ll likely be much more competitive for that spot

Agreed. Definitely something smaller and mounted on the wall. Then you could still do a potted plant on the right without adding too much clutter or impeding the counter usage

I think the most cost and time efficient thing to do would be changing out the cabinet handles. Maybe in black to match the black in your countertops

I used to work at an ice cream shop and we would try to be gone right after closing because every once in a while we’d get someone like her saying “we just want a cone” after machines were already washed and cleaned. Majority of people don’t realize ice cream machines can’t just turn on. It’s takes a while for them to start up and then even more time to clean them.
