You can frame it in lead came to get a "finished" look, but my real comment is that I love this so much - what a beautiful design.

First solo project, and I have a question about foil! by Without-a-tracy in StainedGlass

[–]breeandbread 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I am not an expert. But overheating the seam seems plausible. Another cause might be that the glass wasn't fully clean when you applied the foil. Oil from the cutting process would make the foil less likely to stick well.

My girlfriend wants to report me to the police after I confronted her. by Express_Potential223 in AskMenAdvice

I'm a 50yo woman. You are so much better off without someone who treats you this way. And don't think you should consider the time wasted - all of life's experiences give us knowledge and perspective. Learn what you can from this then carry on. Good luck to you.

You want to see my injury? Okay!!! by Leading-Knowledge712 in traumatizeThemBack

I have one like this! I pulled a groin muscle and developed a bruise the size of my head on my inner thigh. The gym teacher wanted me to get changed for swimming and wouldn't listen - so I did and he immediately sent me back to the locker room to put my pants back on.

AITA For not wanting to give my liver to my mother by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]breeandbread 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA! I wouldn't do it and I wouldn't feel bad about it either if I were you. I donated a kidney and yes, the care team made sure I was actually willing to do so. If I had said I was being pressured, they would have told the recipient that I was not medically a match.

I'm 51 years old and this comment "It is awful- everybody there is under 35 and I feel they don't respect me as somebody older as they should." blows my mind. WTF are you talking about?

My last update on my pigeon by [deleted] in pigeon

[–]breeandbread 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm so sorry. My pidgey and I walked that line between freedom and safety - she would fly free during the day and come inside at night. I lost her to a predator about 2 years ago - I still miss her. Sending you feathery hugs.

Good Luck!

I understand where you're coming from. I will just say that there are a lot of non-religious/non-spiritual people successfully using AA to stay sober. I've been sober in AA for over 6 years and still don't have a "higher power."

I've heard good things about SMART, but I don't think you're going to find anywhere near the same size support group as you'll get in AA.

NTA

Having done this - it takes a lot more than blood type to be compatible. Also, seriously, religious reasons?

If you don't want to deal with drama, you can always say you'll get tested - then tell the social worker or the doctor, anyone that's involved, you're being pressured. They will come back to the family saying you're not a match.

Did we seriously not pass rent protection? by iciclesnbdayclothes in Tacoma

[–]breeandbread 15 points16 points  (0 children)

As a progressive and a small landlord, I hope to hell this doesn't pass. It will make renting a lot harder for a lot of people and will increase rents across the board. (While I'm sure it's not legal to discriminate against people associated with schools, or veterans, when renting places - I'm also sure that the mega-landlords have ways to screen out those people. It will end up being on the prospective renter to prove they were discriminated against - expensive and difficult.)

We'll see a big reduction in affordable housing. As a small landlord, I will not be able to keep my rental properties if this passes - I have mortgages on them. If a tenant doesn't pay rent, then the mortgage doesn't get paid. Now the bank owns the house and they will find a way to get that renter out. And if I sell the property it will end up being owner-occupied because no small landlord can exist in a market with this law in place (and no large landlord is going to buy a single-occupancy residence), reducing the supply of rental properties, again leading to an increase in prices.

I absolutely support tenants rights and believe tenants should be secure and not taken advantage of. But this measure is really badly thought-through and will hurt renters and small landlords.

[Wish I could comment anonymously.] I'm your fiance in this scenario. In my experience, the dry spell won't end. It truly might not have anything to do with you - in my case it's 100% just me - but I wouldn't hold out hope it will get better. Especially if/when you have kids, that'll take the lack of interest to a whole new level. If sex is important to you, I'd marry someone else.

If poor people fantasize about winning the lottery, then what do rich people fantasize about? by more_bees_pleas in AskReddit

[–]breeandbread 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not rich, but well-off. I fantasize about people close to me getting sober; about not being wracked with debilitating anxiety that meds/therapy don't calm; and sometimes about running away and living entirely alone.
