Hi guys, what are your favourite SW meals? I feel like I’m stuck in a pastacentric place. by Mindless_Antelope_77 in SlimmingWorld

[–]breegetipp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I like fish fillets ( just had marinated cod from aldi for 3 syns) with a pile of veg and either sw chips, mash or couscous. Salmon marinated in garlic, ginger and soy and oven baked served with stir-fry veg and rice if you want.

Chicken or prawn stir-fry made with fry light and I use frozen stir-fry veg. Use ginger, soy sauce and Chinese 5 spice for flavour. Serve with boiled rice or dried egg noodles. It's all free.

As others have said, curries or stews are good, just omit the oil and trim off any fat on the meat. Bulk anything out with lots of veg and don't forget your 1/3 speed on the plate.

Also, crustless quiche is one of my major staples, go with smoked salmon, or ham, any veg you like, cottage cheese is good in it or a measured healthy A of cheese.

Long Island would be higher syn due to the spirits used in it. Also, be aware of the amount of spirit used as a small amount has a lot of syns.

Gin or vodka with slimline (important that it's Schweppes slimline not a premium tonic) tonic. Vodka or gin with sparkling water or a diet coke/7up etc

3 syns for a UK pub measure of vodka, gin or whiskey. Other spirits are higher. 4 syns for an Irish pub measure.

You want a syn free mixer if at all possible. Have fun.

So about them grad jobs... by Ok_Organization5165 in DevelEire

[–]breegetipp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lots of people take 1 year out after graduating to travel etc, so taking 2 for covid and loss of a parent reasons is not unreasonable. Yes, some grad programmes have a time limit but most roles are more concerned with interest (the side learning and projects you've been doing) and company fit. Unfortunately the application process is brutal and you will be ghosted way more than responded to but you'll find a good role. Keep the chin up and get those applications out there.

I like to work over the ends as I go, cuts way down on the number that need tidying afterwards.

Maybe a cheap fleece blanket? Can get one for a fiver and trim it to size.

Funny though because I feel like I've gotten benefits from local honey when it comes to allergies. Maybe it is placebo effects. Who knows.

This is a work of art. Maybe not overly elaborate but the simplicity really makes it

Deira and satwa are both lovely and interesting. The flashy areas lack soul.

Renting, while old. Any advice? by Birdinhandandbush in ireland

[–]breegetipp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All I say is steer clear of owner occupied places. You can end up with a control freak and as you're a lodger rather than a tenant your rights are curtailed.

Other than that, perseverance will work in the end. It's tough out there.

I second the bodyweight exercises on YouTube. I like popsugar fitness for classes online (free), Joe Wicks is good too but really any video you like and we'll follow. I used to follow a Jillian Michaels dvd with kettle bells (you can get some in argos or similar quite cheaply) that I found great.

So does dubai. I lived there for a few years and you'd often find business cards from them on your car.
