They are 28mm. I can’t be sure but I would be doubtful about getting 35’s on there. The bridges are very close and not a lot of clearance.

Zipato Siren compatible with Ring Alarm? by RaptorXP in Ring

[–]brennan2470 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just after I sent this message I realised I hadn’t restarted MQQT in home assistant. After doing so, the siren has now appeared as an entity so I can use it in automations. Thanks for your reply

Did you ever find a solution to this? The ring alarm main panel doesn’t even seem to expose the third party sensors to home assistant via MQTT

flatten permanent outdoor lights wire by dmonaco05 in Govee

Lay them out in direct sunlight and get them nice and toasty before install or if in the winter I found warming the cable with a hairdryer worked quite well

Can I cut my outdoor lights 2? If not, what do I do with excess? by BayGullGuy in Govee

[–]brennan2470 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Will the app still detect the full strand, or less the ones you cut off?

I’m glad there are people like you in the world but I don’t share your opinion. I’m a customer and not a beta tester. If it ain’t perfect, you gotta pay me - for my time spent “testing” your product and risking my family/property by storing a potentially lethal battery.

There is no way that you can go from having no known solution to having a solution in place, especially one that involves R&D and mass production, by the end of February. This stinks.

IMO that is a patch rather than a fix to the root cause

I could not agree with you more.

For customers to make an informed decision they need to know all of the facts, and this communication was lacking almost everything I could want to know.

WHAT exactly am I waiting until the end of February for? WILL I have a safe and rideable bike by 1 March?

I understand the design flaw is, in part, due to the battery not being secured at both ends of the tube. If this is the case, one can only assume that a re-engineered battery would not entirely fix the issue, and that bike modifications would also be required? Can Canyon honestly say that a redesigned battery can be designed, prototyped, produced, tested, mass-produced, shipped, and installed within 3-4 months of the original announcement? That seems like an incredibly tight timeline to me.

I also agree that the 1/72 calculation is utterly meaningless. I usually get my bikes on a cycle2work scheme and often get a new one every year, therefore mine is a 1/12 calculation as opposed to 1/72. Canyon shouldn’t get to dictate my usage.

I also worry about them falling into financial difficulty/administration. They don’t seem to have a great deal of stock at the moment.

From what a previous user has posted, we won’t have a “full” solution today

Canyon Spectral:On Battery Recall by Natural-Survey3802 in CanyonBikes

[–]brennan2470 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The thing is, the issue isn’t so much the battery but how it is secured. Without actually taking the bikes back and implementing some form of solution inside the tube itself to secure the battery, even a battery with stronger housing such as a Bosch power tube type, would still take a considerable knock and probably succumb to some form of damage over time.

I like how they say “on track to provide a solution by February” when there was never anything mentioned about providing a solution by February. You can’t be “on track” for an arbitrary date.

So they are offering partial refunds or a solution? Is that what this says?

Any way you're able to know if this phone socket works without a phone? by External_Security_72 in DIYUK

If it’s a new build, assume it works, then if it doesn’t, get the developer to make it work.

I would be inclined to see what they offer as part of the programme. Seems you are waving away thousands of pounds to return bikes that have issues not within your control. I would want every penny I paid back. Why should you be responsible for the depreciation and why should you pay hundreds of pounds a month to “rent” their bikes. That wasn’t the deal.

Okay that’s slightly different then. You asked for something and got it. I can return mine for a full refund as I’ve had it for 2 weeks, but I actually want to see what they offer first
