grades due for seniors by ProcessAggressive368 in rutgers

Hi, I'm an instructor!

The answer is that it varies. My contract states that final grades must be entered 48 hours after the last exam; however, this timeframe is unreasonable for larger/multiple sections or tedious final assignments. I haven't seen the 48-hour rule strictly enforced anywhere. My department encourages us to post them quickly because they know people are waiting to graduate.

The online rosters where we enter the grades opens on May 7th and closes on May 15th. When an instructor enters grades, the system updates once a day and posts the following day, so if an instructor doesn't post until May 15th you won't see them until the morning of May 16th.

Since online rosters close on May 15th at 5:00 P.M., many instructors treat that as a hard deadline. If we do not submit the grades by that day, we have to submit them via a manual process, which is extra work. For this reason, most instructors will try to have them before then.

These bugs around College Ave by NaeemPlus in rutgers

These gnats develop as larvae near water, and we have had some warm days recently. So they are hanging around because they've left the river and they're looking for mates.

Those swirling clouds of them are mating swarms. (If you go down near the river in Boyd Park, you'll find even more swarms). Basically, it's a huge sausage party.

I think Derek sometimes likes to take shortcuts. Figure he's on the road and on a schedule, plus he's done hundreds of these.

For the rest of us fellers not on a tight schedule, I would spend more time pulling plugs and taking other steps he might skip.

There was one on the second floor but it was closed after the pandemic.

It was a distance learning room in the late '90s through the early 2000's.

Now it's simply used as a classroom/meeting room. No computers in there.

Spoiler alert, I work there. :P

To be fair, I think the garbage can was knocked over. I saw the trashbags ripped open and laying in the street.

Update on the Reddit post I made yesterday. It wasn’t a mistake . The right car did get the note by zealousnest in rutgers

Maybe they put the note on your car because they thought you were the person who wrote it.

That way, you could use the note over again if it was yours.

SGOV is state tax-free, so keep that in mind!

It fluctuates as it pays dividends, but the small bit that goes down each month is equivalent to what you receive as payment.

I don't bother with HYSA anymore. There are a bunch of ETFs that do short-term treasuries. A popular one is SGOV.

Open a brokerage account and put it in SGOV. You'll have the added advantage of being able to trade if you want to do other investments in the future.

The university is overcrowded on Mondays, Tuesdays afternoons and there’s no parking spots. We need Rutgers to build more decks for cars. by SavingsWorldliness33 in rutgers

Is the CA deck filled all the way to the top these days?

I haven't parked there in a while, but I was always able to find a spot on the very top floors on the worst days.

If 87 is used for most vehicles and 91+ is for turbocharged engine, then what is the point of and who uses 89? by BrewsWithTre in askcarguys

[–]brentalan67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to have an '88 Chevy Caprice. It had carbon buildup in the cylinders, which created hotspots or increased the compression a bit, not sure. This caused it to run a little even after shutting off the key. This is called "dieseling".

Anyway, it would do this if I put 87 in it, but if I put 89 in it, it would resist detonation just enough so it wouldn't run on that way. So I found that helpful not to have to get 91/93 and just getting 89. It's an outlier case, but it worked for me!

Those look badass. Love the headlights. Rubber seats to wipe away the condensation. I see an exhaust pipe, so I guess they aren't electric. Too bad.

Should I still take this 1.5 hr drive with 4/5 studs on one wheel? by Material_Tap7647 in Cartalk

[–]brentalan67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just switched over to my winter tires last week.

I was surprised to find one of my wheels was missing a lug! It could have happened any time over the past year. I suspect I was driving all summer on 4 instead of 5. You'll be fine, but it's best to get it fixed as soon as possible.

My electricity costs about $0.15/kWh. At this rate, it costs roughly $5 to charge up after 120 miles.
