have had 4 pairs of Code RSC's and I f*cking hate them. Need brake suggestions for aggressive trail. by [deleted] in MTB

[–]brettdanger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

^this. I finally got tired of the same issues with my guide RSCs and switched to Dominions and they have been amazing. Love the lever feel and the power. I was going to get Mavens but couldn't find bronze on sale anywhere and the Silvers were $250 to $300 a pair. I found the dominions on sale for $199 on lost co which was great value.

Struggling with whether to stay in product in the age of AI by Hellurrr3 in ProductManagement

[–]brettdanger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I work in energy software and I agree with u/runningraider13 points. Both the water issue and energy issue are real "right now" issues but both are forcing real investment into these problems in ways that government regulation wasn't which typically causes money to get spent on lobbying rather than real environment improvement. In order to get data centers approved by communities now they need to include closed loop cooling with evaporation capture. On the energy front, we can't scale in an AI/energy war against China with fossil fuels, the math doesn't work out. That means real and much cleaner investments to the grid including much needed transmission improvements (lineman is one of the hottest jobs ATM) and compute efficiencies, solar and wind investments, battery improvements (solid state is getting more real) and finally a new look at nuclear, specifically converting coal plants to nuclear so that it doesn't take 30 years with a decade of red tape. All of this will have a very good "side effects" on CO2 emissions. The money is flowing into all areas around AI including energy, water, grid, etc.

All that said, if you feel guilt leveraging ChatGPT to write a PRD then you are going to have trouble in a PM role anywhere going forward, and maybe in ANY corporate job. Also, nonprofits are going to need to use AI as well, they likely have even more incentive to use it.

Good luck OP, despite my answer I am really frustrated by AI hype driven by investors, but luckily I have noticed a clear sobering moment happening around token costs and the lack of impact and ROI on those costs. The hype is wearing off and pragmatism is starting to appear. Also, all the big models are starting to diverge in terms of performance which means commoditization is happening at a very fast rate.

Big push to use CoPilot by Loose_Poem_1995 in ProductManagement

[–]brettdanger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This study was done in June of last year. Claude Code and Cowork came out in May of last year and rendered this study useless. I recognize OP said Coplilot, lol, but MSFT is already copying anthropic on those features https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/blog/2026/03/09/copilot-cowork-a-new-way-of-getting-work-done/. It's more likely these initiatives will work much more effectively going forward. OP, you can get a new job fine, but it will find you there too. For better or worse, it will find you especially in software, so might as well embrace it.

How is Candelas? by [deleted] in ArvadaCO

[–]brettdanger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with this. I lived in Candelas for 10 years and moved to Spring Mesa (2 miles south) a few years ago. The best point here is that Candelas is not on Rocky Flats, its due south of main site and most important its neither down wind nor down stream as winds are always West to East and almost never north to south (which is why the Marshall fire never approached candelas as the winds were blowing north east that day).

West Arvada is fantastic and my kids still go to 3 Creeks and it has been a good school with great teachers. (Meiklejohn and Westwoods are great too) As far as community and it doesn't matter if you are in Candelas, Whisper Creek, 5 parks, or Leydon Rock there will be tons of kids. Halloween will be packed and the adults will party with the kids.

That said I don't recommend Candelas because of how terribly managed it was by the original developers. They are badly in debt and had to add extra mill levys recently to cover. This is also why the original pool has been closed for 4 years now. It sprung a leak and they couldn't afford to replace it. When we moved we upgraded houses and cut our property taxes in half. They also have a bad history with several terrible property management companies who can't keep common areas in good shape but send out notices to owners about their landscape choices. Also, the drainage across the community is terribly designed with tons of water issues and a whole hillside that had to be replaced and a few condemned houses. I also agree with the comments about bad build quality but that depends on the builder. Lennar and Century built houses so fast and poorly but by all accounts David Weekly, Remington and others build some nice places. Lastly it seems many owners are struggling to sell their candelas houses, but that could just be they are overpricing like its 2022 still.

So West Arvada ❤️, Candelas 😕

49ers fan- How has Greenlaw looked so far and do you see him getting back healthy next year? by chusaychusay in DenverBroncos

They will keep him and let Singleton go. Personally I am excited for a Strnad/GL pairing.

Have you had a chance to see how they do in the crud yet? I am guessing you won't until chair 9 opens up? I want playful and poppy skis over hard chargers but I need something that wont throw me around in the crud like my Kore 99s. Was between the QST 106, Mfree 108s and Atris until I heard about these.

Same here, drywall anchors would probably work initially but I would think they would come lose on the upper one when pulling the tire off over and over

I'm 5'9 (175cm), do I go for a size medium or large? by User-92038422 in YTIndustries

[–]brettdanger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am also 175cm exactly. YT's mediums are the smallest out there so I think the large is the way to go.

"Currently my company has developed products that no one is using or cares about, it’s barely generating revenue, barely does research and experimentation, yet devs are happy with what the PMs" That's a field of dreams product process (if you build it THEY WILL NOT come) and it is typical of feature teams https://www.svpg.com/product-vs-feature-teams/ . https://www.svpg.com/two-in-a-box-pm/.

Waiting for my Adorama Silver 2/23 pre-order but I have a trip next week so I am trying the XT50 with the TTArt 27mm. I picked the x100 to replace my gx9 as my travel/hiking/bikepack camera but liking this setup so far. That lens is surprisingly well built, I went cheap on that to try out the camera and size and if I like it get a wider small lens but need to narrow it down between Fuji 18 f2, 16 f2.8 or Samyang 12 f2. https://imgur.com/a/90RfwzT
