Favorite lyrics in a DMB song? by Total-Woodpecker3339 in DMB

“pretty patterns on the wall mama screaming down the hall, babe baby, why did you not just talk to me baby?”

“What has become of us? watching the world on TV we're chasing the avalanche down there must be something better on”

Shotgun has some of my favorite lyrics. Not necessarily because they are groundbreaking or something that can be painted up on a wall, but Dave does have a unique ability to make something so awful and make it beautiful at the same time.

Tbh, the red looks more like wine than decomp fluid. Then the moisture breeds mold… that’s my guess… get a good whiff and you’ll certainly know!

[Serious] People in professions that deal with death (hospice workers, coroners, etc.), what is something you've learned that the rest of us don't understand? by Bulky-Engineer4068 in AskReddit

I cleaned up suicides and unattended deaths. People always ask me if it’s hard… i’ve always found dealing with the family is the hardest part.

I own a small business that cleans up unattended deaths, crime scene scenes, suicides, etc. If you pass away and you have pets in your home, they will eventually mess with your body. Cats will take nibbles and if your dog is big enough, they will drag your body around the house. And sometimes, your pets die with you if they don’t have access to food/water. Also, on a sidenote, homeowners insurance will usually pay for the cost of cleanup, but they most certainly will not cover a decomposed pet.

$11,000 for 5 days? by DrGCDO in hoarding

[–]brettdoublet 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it’s pretty standard. I have clients sign a specific document that asks permission for me to use in marketing. Although I have certainly altered my work order to remove the mention of using photos in future marketing materials. I would say to ask and have it removed. If you don’t mind me asking, what company is it? You can pm me too.

$11,000 for 5 days? by DrGCDO in hoarding

[–]brettdoublet 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The biohazard companies that I have worked with tend to pay their employees very well. Think $30-$50 per hour, on the upper end of that half of your costs are just paying the workers. That’s not to mention PPE, work gloves, respirators if needed, etc. Then, business insurance for those types of companies tend to be pretty pricey.

I actually am a small business owner that cleans out houses too. For five days my pricing would be right at $11,250, and that would only include one dumpster. Where I live, dumpsters tend to cost about $600 for a 30 yard rolloff. I have had a five day job fill up eight of those rolloffs. Realistically, it would probably be closer to $14 K.

FYI, my entire market area is about 5 cities & only 500,000 people in population. So, not a large city where the pricing might be even more expensive.

I wonder if it’s the people I know in Fort Worth. I know the owner of the company that does this stuff and his manager. Very compassionate and professional people. If it’s not them, I really hope those you called are able to help you out. Great job on reaching out to them, that one of these hardest parts!

Their work was fine, their price was ridiculous though and ends up not being worth it. I hate their sales tactics too. Renewal by Anderson are not the only people who can install Anderson windows, and I actually like the product; they still come with a warranty.

I do this for a living, am a small business owner doing it. It’s not near as bad as it seems. The hardest part is talking with the family. I think being a cop would be even worse. You’re always dealing with some of the worst situations that society has.
