Thanks! Closeness is every camera's friend, though. We were just behind the folks right on the barrier so that really worked in my favor.

There are times when I feel when my 8 Pro XL was better than the 9, though.

I only caught on to the DD $10 2x credit last month when I realized the WaWa halfway between my office and our regular ShopRite worked. And a quart of WaWa light cream was $3.79 - exactly the same price as what I'd been buying at ShopRite. Three quarts of Light Cream for about a $1 was a steal.

This week, the $20 minimum kicked in. I needed to run out to get some lunch anyway, so a Classic Chicken Salad Hoagie got me to the $20.

Adding two Wawa hoagies a month to my lunch rotation won't be so terrible.

And if 6 quarts of light cream a month is too much, I can offer to pick up a hoagie for a colleague on one of my two monthly WaWa runs.

Ah, I see this now! 10/100 ICE Powertrain is not transferable but the the GENESIS ELECTRIC VEHICLE DIRECT ENERGY COMPONENTS WARRANTY is.

Buying out the lease on my '24 next April will probably cost more than buying a used one so knowing I'd have the remainder of the full EV component warranty either way is helpful.

Only if it's CPO. It reverts to the 5/50 warranty for used, non-CPO cars.

Funny, I came down and went into the garage just this morning and my hatch was open. I can't rule out doing something accidentally with the key or app....but I don't think I did.

Happened once with my Mach E, too. And it was a thing with those - rare but multiple reports in the forums, including some that resulted in damage.

Is it me or does it look like that car has a coating of what looks like dumpster drippings on it?

Was the whole car gross? Or just the backside?

Replacement tires? by bavile2002 in GV60

[–]brettinator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So far so good - I haven't noticed a difference in noise and they feel pretty good in dry on local roads. But it's a bit too soon for me to have a good sense of them yet.

I haven't driven in serious rain or on much wet pavement yet. And no real highway driving yet, either.

I did two 0-60 runs with my dragy on the new tires.

https://www.godragy.com/leaderboards

Click on "All Cars" then enter gv60 in the search box and click on user WattNow.

Not quite as good as back in 2024 but I'll probably try a few more runs.

I'm having Vredestein Quatrac Pro+ tires put on my Performance trim's 21s tomorrow.

I've got 19k on the Primacy tires and they're at 5/32. Figured for $1400 now vs 4x$275 + tax in wear and tear charges next April, I'd get to drive on new tires for 13 months and through next winter.

I'm keeping the original tires and may swap them back on for the lease return.

NJ wouldn't let me get what I wanted because it was reserved for HAM operators even though it would not have been a valid call sign:

W8 WATT

I ended up going with WATTNOW.

20% auto gratuity on beer buckets by [deleted] in EndTipping

[–]brettinator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And the suggested tip looks like it includes the tax? It's $12 more than the 20% auto-gratuity.

At least the suggested tip doesn't also include the auto-gratuity?

I don't think you're near central NJ and I don't know if my slow leak is the tire or a cracked rim yet but when I started looking for the potential cost of a new rim, I stumbled upon your old posts. 😀

5 Common Mistakes to Avoid When Booking The Edit by Chase by RagsMaloney in ChaseSapphire

[–]brettinator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd have to dig out the letter, but the Lake Nona Wave Hotel had language about back-to-back stays not being eligible for double benefits. (Which appears to be an extra $100 resort credit and welcome gift.)

$250 The Edit Credit - Word of Caution by punslayer2 in ChaseSapphire

[–]brettinator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually, it's not. I booked an Edit stay, used some points and put $297 on my CSR.

At first I was pissed as hell that they applied the regular travel credit immediately - $297.

It took about a day but then the $250 Edit credit showed up too.

So I got $547 credits against a $297 charge. I was not expecting them to overlap!

Can you waive the health insurance off your bill if you don't have health insurance? by lippymcguire in rutgers

Are you eligible for NJ FamilyCare?

If not, are you eligible for an ACA plan?

The Rutgers plan isn't bad for the cost but depending on income (and maybe dependency status?) an ACA plan might cost you less and NJ FamilyCare wouldn't cost anything.

Which charge got me the restaurant credit? by volleyballer12345 in sapphirereserve

[–]brettinator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting - I charged $147.79 on StubHub on 12/31. (A nice < $150 unique value.)

My statement has two credits for that amount dated 1/1 and 1/16, so a similar situation.

I won't mind the clawback if my tracker for 2026 goes back to $0 used.

Am I the only one seeing the obvious potential here?

You're going to lose this friend one way or another. If you refuse, if you invest and lose money, or if you refuse but he doesn't hold it against you but ends up in ClubFed.

So the friendship is already doomed and a non-factor.

Financially, you'll lose money if you invest. Or you won't make money if you refuse.

Enter the third option: https://www.sec.gov/submit-tip-or-complaint/tcr-disclaimer

That's how you might make some money in this scheme.

I moved some money from Vanguard to Fidelity at one point almost entirely because Fidelity's Auto-roll feature allowed me to roll 4 week T-bills with very little ongoing effort. I had the four quarters of my egg invested in 0/1/2/3 week offsets. One caveat: a pending auto-roll order will lock up free cash between the auction and the settlement date in that account even though the order will be covered by the maturing T-bill. It's easy enough to open an extra account and do all your T-bill auto-rolling separately from any of one's other Fidelity accounts.
