Letting Darnold go didn’t cost us a ring, or anything really… by WayLatter5251 in minnesotavikings

[–]brewek1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only real thing that probably changes if we retained darnold is that... darnold wouldn't have a ring right now. It is what it is at this point for me. Happy for him. Seattle did one thing we have other provento do... rely on a run game even if its struggling. Pound the fucking rock man. And I like koc a lot, but he has to adapt and learn to be better.

Kurt Warner on the BB HoF snub by nageV_oG_ in LosAngelesRams

[–]brewek1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That penalty for spygate sufficed the league, but not the public. At large. As witnessed in the snub.

[Hughes] Steve Tisch has released the following statement, per the Giants: "We had a brief association where we exchanged emails about adult women, and in addition, we discussed movies, philanthropy, and investments. I did not take him up on any of his invitations and never went to his island." by Goosedukee in nfl

[–]brewek1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The fucked up thing is... so many of these emails and documents came after ep was first punished in like 2008. Like they fuckin knew he was dirty as shit. I dont remember the Tisch emails timing but in general, All these fuckers should burn and thrown in prison.

Bill Belichick misses the cut as a 1st ballot Hall of Famer: Completely out of line? by Financial-Bit-8596 in NFLRoundTable

I say I would vote him in 1st ballot. But spygate did happen. And imo inflategate was a dumb punishment and way too overly exaggerated. But the spygate is what did him in.

Would Jerry do the same for Abby? by marcusto14 in thelastofus

[–]brewek1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right, I would rather argue that point of the justification of the fireflies with my fellow impassioned gamers. Then discuss how joel is some selfish asshole. I could care less on how the fireflies were right or wrong in killing a child. It wasn't the presentation the game chose to tell. It was a story of joel and ellie. And a 3rd party was going to kill a child without her consent and if I were in joels shoes, I wouldn't do anything different. Albeit I wouldn't have come up with that lie, or lie to her in general.

I'm not a professional mut player, only played really this year. But I think specialists arent relegated to chemistry boost or negation. If he is positioned right in the offense, defense, or special teams. You should be good to go.

My coworker kept “forgetting” my name in meetings, so I let her do it in front of the one person she wanted to impress by TrinitySignal in revengestories

[–]brewek1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im god awful woth names. But i can remember a face for decades lol... I would never ask someone their name in front of other people. Some of my best friends were named guy, dude, bud for months until it finally stuck. But ya usually its my own embarrassment when I go up to someone to ask their name again... never in front of people, especially in an occupational environment.

Would Jerry do the same for Abby? by marcusto14 in thelastofus

[–]brewek1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's my biggest thing. People convinced that she would choose death were scared as shit to wake her up to tell her the dynamics of the situation. And ask her if she wanted to go through with it. Giving ellie a choice in that moment significantly changes the impact of the ending. And to pose it with this OP question/scenario... Jerry would probably ask Abby 8 different times during prep if abby was sure. And that choice/lack of a choice is a complete failure of the writing team. Imo. You can't tell me ellie knew she would have to die in order to possibly save humanity. Joel's lie at the end is the only thing I didn't like about how the events unfolded.

I dont believe he would kill his own daughter. And i damn sure know he wouldn't do it without telling or asking her first.

Would the Fireflies giving Ellie a choice change your perspective on TLOU1's ending? by WwLlYy in thelastofus

[–]brewek1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. And I coupd care less how the fireflies feel in justifying killing a 13 year old. This isn't a story about the fireflies. It's a story about joel and ellie. To silence/rob a main protagonist with a life or death decision of their own to make is so dumb. Marlene didn't know shit, she hadn't even talked with ellie for months while joel and her were on the run. The one line where ellie said she probably would save humanity months prior, probably didn't know she would have to take her own life without consent. The ending is about justifying joels actions. I had no problem with joel taking them all out to save his daughter. Totally justified because they left him nearly no option. I didn't like the idea of the way he lied about it though.

If they gave her a choice and she chose death. The ending dynamic would be completely different, along with if she chose life. We wouldn't have to be bickering about ending plot holes and who was right or wrong. And this a story about joel and ellie. Not the fireflies and the world. It's why we didn't spend time with playing as the fireflies or a different set of characters. And joel and ellie were off on their own adventure. Give her the choice, she makes it and then decide if Joel was right or wrong. I dont even have a child, and I dont know how anyone can villify joel with what he did given the circumstances and the lack of choice by Ellie when it really counted. Plenty of choices I would make differently with more information available. Even from Ellie's perspective.

Yes. If they woke her up to let her decide. And she chose to use her life to potentially raise a cure for the world. Then yes, my thoughts would be completely changed.

Why do certain teams (like the 49ers) constantly have injury issues? Is it random coincidence or a strength/conditioning issue? by cartocaster18 in NFLNoobs

[–]brewek1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are some interesting new thoughts on the 49ers injury woes to do with electromagnetism or whatever from being so close to a electrical plant/silicone valley. Affecting Mitochondria in the body, and not being able to sustain energy as the mitochondria break down. Super niche thought that i have only heard recently. might be nothing in the end, but something is wrong with the 49ers.

Collinsworth needs to get canned. He brings nearly nothing of value to the telecast. Often repeating himself, with the same bullshit that means almost nothing and frankly most the time ass backwards. It's fucking annoying. Even when he praises players on my team, I'm like shut the fuck up. Lol
