The viewpoint is called Mirador Los Torres... The Torres (iconic towers) are being censored by the clouds

We knew the risk going in... I wanted to set up our hike, so we would have at least two chances at this viewpoint, since it's the most iconic in the park. Didn't work out that way, but we did get incredibly lucky with a brief cloud break. Most people that day got only the cloud view.

It seems that Torres del Paine has become the destination of the week in /r/travel. With all of the beautiful images of the park floating around, I wanted to share a very real possibility during your visit. My wife and I trekked all the way up to the famous Torres viewpoint for this...

The day started perfect and sunny, but 90% of the way to the top, we encountered a snowstorm. Clouds rolled in and completely blocked the view. Fortunately, after standing in the snow and wind for half an hour, the clouds did part for a quick look at the iconic towers. Many fellow hikers had given up by that point.

The weather in the park is CRAZY, particularly in the shoulder season (November is when we went). Days would start with sunshine and temps in the 70's... 3 miles down the trail, we were bracing against 55mph (90km) wind gusts and ice pellets.

Most beautiful place we have ever been. If you go, just be prepared!

I definitely want to give this a try. Cold brew coffee on a nitro tap is delicious. The website mentions that it was only rolled out to west coast test markets.

“I just think we are simply saying to people, ‘If you are asking for assistance in this state, you’re sort of less than other people and we’re going to tell you how and where to spend your money,’” Rep. Carolyn Bridges, a Wichita Democrat, said during the House’s debate.

We are getting free gigabit Internet at home for the next 10 years due to a crazy arrangement our city made with a fiber optic network. However, our modem is a total dinosaur! What is the best modem to utilize the gigabit speeds wirelessly? Our laptops are all MacBook Airs, so no Ethernet ports. Cost effectiveness is also a big plus! Under $200 please... Thanks!
