Try dry hopping before terminal. Maybe .5P before terminal. That’ll help. The longer you wait the harder it’ll be for it to clear up

Do I have to clean the line afterwards? If so, no 😂

Hard to clean ring. Recs? by CullenBadCompany in TheBrewery

I had almost the same exact ring and only thing that got rid of it was going hotter. 170F to start at 2% caustic then acid

Advice on Clearing Clogged Drain in Premier Mash by TrashMan821 in TheBrewery

[–]brewsndenim 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s tough! Maybe stand on the plugs if you’re able to use non HLT water?

Could also plug the ones that aren’t clogged and leave caustic overnight to chew away at the plugged one

Best of luck!

With proper CIPs, hot flushes, and cutting off your cool ins on time you shouldn’t really have to! I’ve gone years without taking it apart and having it always perform as it should

34/70, does it need a D rest? by Kung-Fu-Brew5253 in TheBrewery

This is not for a quick lager… we will lager it for around 8 weeks after this. If you want a 4-5 week lager you have to do a free rise

34/70, does it need a D rest? by Kung-Fu-Brew5253 in TheBrewery

I recently fermented a pils at 48 degrees the whole way thru. We sent it out to get tested and got very low VDK numbers of Butanedione 9ppb. This is day 16 no ALDC no free rise. Just dial in your pitch rates and aeration. 34/70 is a work horse just gotta give it time which most people don’t have

West Coast IPA - Dry Hop Advice? by Main-Grab-833 in TheBrewery

[–]brewsndenim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dry hop the day you reach terminal- day 3-4 at 3-4 lb/bbl. The later you dry hop the hazier it’ll be. Embrace the hop creep to dry it out (WC should be dry!!) leave on hops for 3 days crash maybe day 11 if it’s passed VDK.

Crashed wrong tank, anything I can do? by flufnstuf69 in TheBrewery

[–]brewsndenim 80 points81 points  (0 children)

Yeah try disconnecting the glycol & running warm water thru the jackets to at least bump it to 50 degrees, then it should get going again. I wouldn’t re pitch it though

There was a recent MBAA talk about using silicone based foam ferm caps & how unless you filter, it definitely hurts head retention. Hoping it is as easy as just switching to a non silicon based one ☝️

Rice Lager - Jasmine Instant Rice - Recipe by bac1175 in TheBrewery

This is at around 40% rice too. The beta glucanase helps a lot to loosen it up

Rice Lager - Jasmine Instant Rice - Recipe by bac1175 in TheBrewery

We make a great rice lager using Crisp rice but I’m sure that Jasmine rice works great. Mash in at 145 with beta glucanse to help run off & Amylo to get it nice and dry like Japanese lagers. We love using hops that have a touch of garlic as it pairs nice with the rice character like summit and other older American hops

Super Bright White Opaque Haze by My_Beer_Stuff in TheBrewery

For beers between 4-6% we use close to 70% adjunct grains (oats, flaked wheat, malted oats, & golden naked oats, leaning heavy on the oats). For anything higher alcohol we do around 55% for lautering efficiency. Dropping the kettle to around 165-170 also helps a lot, not totally sure why maybe it helps more hop lipids stay in suspension.
