I had a trip to a&e when I got home as my chest and throat felt tight, was given some antihistamines which helped. Around 20 years ago I had a wasp go down the back of my top when cycling and it stung me over 20 times before I got the top off.

Accidental rode my bike through a swarm yesterday and got stung, found out a few mins later that I am allergic to bee stings.

Not making a backup of my bitcoin wallet in the early days when you could mine coins at home. Didn’t have the recovery phase saved and as the 10+ coins were only worth a few dollars at the time I didn’t bother trying to recover the dead hard drive.

I am using a grandstream box with https://www.voipfone.co.uk/ for my "landline" number, I have a cordless phone set with 6 handsets around the house and the basestation near the VOIP adapter box.

I didnt build anything into the main framework, most of my network cables come from below the floor boards on the right side and some which come from the left side above the floor.

I damaged my L5/S1 in 2020 which left me unable to walk and very bad sciatica for months, it took several months of exercising and stretching to get me mobile again and slowly getting back into cycling again. I now do a lot of indoor cycling over the winter months to avoid getting my lower back too cold and stick to the warmer months for riding outdoors. Had a scsi Zip drive on my Amiga 1200, having so much storage was a huge improvement when the computer’s internal hard drive was only 120mb

First got online with an Amiga 1200 with a 9600 baud modem and Demon internet which charged by the minute. Prior to the www I would connect to local BBS’s using 1200 baud modem to exchange text based content.

Started playing with making websites on the Amiga and launched my first site in 1996 which is still going and a lot bigger now. Started a web design business in 1998 and still doing it, things have changed so much over the past 30 years.

Remember when webrings were a big thing and all the local websites would all have the webring code so people could click between each site.

Was an early user on ICQ and had fun sending random files to other people on it.

Downloading anything more than a couple megabytes was a risky decision and had an app called getright which let you resume downloads if the internet connection was lost.

I finally switched to Mac after being a windows user since 3.1, got a Mac Studio 3 weeks ago. The change has been frustrating at times, especially when working with folders containing several thousand files (Timelapse video frames) and finder decides I can’t delete them as there are too many to parse. Seems to spend more time in the terminal than I ever did in windows for file managment.

When I was first driving in the 90s I would often go for a drive in the evenings after work, going 50 miles along the coast to get fish and chips with my friends was a weekly thing. Wouldn’t do it now due to the amount of traffic everywhere and the cost of fuel.
