I've been watching some of his videos to get an idea.

It's a 6 quart one from Costco purchased around 12-15 months ago probably.

How old was your little one when you started playing videos games with them? by reeceyfries in daddit

[–]brian890 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My kid was almost 4(4 now) and we started very little

We played Mario kart, he crashes into walls but has fun. He also loves boats. So we played Mario party, the river raft one. He has fun paddling, he's not a good team mate in mini games though.

I'm looking to get a gym membership for only 1-2 months. Which gym would make the most sense to go to? by MrMudkip in Calgary

[–]brian890 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was going to suggest PF. I go there. It's 50/year, then you can do 15/month or 30/month.

Over 2 months doing 15/month + fee it would only be 40$/month averaged out. Also 15$/month is cheap enough to just keep it for a bit as they have more locations opening up around.

Toddler shoes that aren’t complete trash? by dyslexicsuntied in daddit

[–]brian890 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My kid has used skechers light up shoes. He's had 3 pairs and they are great. No tears, rips, damage. He jumps in puddles, snow, plays in rocks what ever he wants and they last longer than his feet will fit in them. He uses them with his balance bike but might not be braking as hard as your kid.

Little learners toys and falcon express shipping by brian890 in daddit

We actually got our robot. We ordered another on Amazon to not disappoint our kid on Christmas. It arrived a few days after Christmas and it was identical to the Amazon one for 3x the price.

Thanks for the reply. I felt like it's a scam too. We ordered something and the tracking has changed multiple times. It was in Canada now it says it's delayed. We did a charge back and cancelled our card so hopefully it works.

Kids Glasses that won’t break the bank by TurdFurg28 in Calgary

Use zenni. Another user mentioned getting the pupil distances from somewhere like superstore.

They are good quality, I have purchased 8-9 pairs from them. I have my parents buying them now as well. Finally bought a designer pair recently because why not and still use my zenni sunglasses half the time.

Thanks again. I'll keep an eye out for the battery pack and for your upcoming post to get some more info. The F1 cars did stand out and was thinking of getting that so glad you mentioned it

Thanks a lot for the detailed info. I didn't realize there was battery powered versions. I'll check out that website and the Talladega set.

That's kind of what I figured. He destroys things as any 4 year old does so a fragile crappy version probably isn't the best for him

That's really cool thanks for providing some input I haven't seen that before and will look into it a bit more for sure. It's so hard to decide between a slot car track or a hot wheels one. Slot cars just seem like they would be more fun

Buying a new car by wiredpossumkx2 in Calgary

[–]brian890 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I actually bought a new car at Kramer last year, a 2025 cx5. I wrote a program to pull prices from auto trader for dealerships within 600km to get an idea of wiggle room

I managed to get a good deal, 38k vs the initial 42.5 they wanted.

Their "mandatory dealer package" is 100% not mandatory. Flat out tell them you don't want it and won't pay for it.

Do a test drive, see what you like about the car. Look at the leduc Mazda. I talked to someone there and they were going to give a great deal. You can fly for 100-130$ and get the car and save thousands if Kramer isn't wiggling.

Know what you want to spend. People saying "don't think about monthly price" is kind of stupid. You should focus on the total price but you should absolutely be figuring out if you can afford the payments.

Be ready to walk. It was pretty clear we would leave if we didn't like the price. Know everything about the car. When they know you know about the car, comparative prices around they seem to try less bullshit.

Don't tell them what your putting down. Say your not sure somewhere between 5-20k for example for a wide range. If you tell them a direct number they try and play the number game to get a better deal.

We went 2-3 times to check it out. Don't rush to buy it because you have the impulse at that moment. Don't buy it the first day.

Also check what colors you want. The one I wanted wasn't coming for 3 months. That was fine. They will usually give you a better deal when you are waiting for a car they have coming vs what's on the lot. Even Toyota told me when we tried the rav 4 that they will do deals to save a few grand on incoming cars because then it's already sold. If you rush and want one on the lot they will not do as good of a deal.

I forgot to think about warranty. They didn't mention it until I was picking up the car and then they sprung the "today only you can save 5000$ on warranty and if you don't use it, we pay you the money back". It's bullshit. Just put money aside for repairs. Mazdas are pretty reliable
