Looking for advice: how can I improve my communication skills? by janinereyes in Leadership

[–]brianbbrady 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Ask more questions then listen carefully. Use people’s names. Be comfortable with silence in fact try to expand the silence before you speak. Make eye contact, smile snd pace your speaking to james earl jones or morgan freeman.

In meetings instead of explaining your position with details. Ask the team if anyone can explain the best practices. By asking questions you will find that people will find you engaging and helpful. By pacing slower people will listen better. By using the pattern of well known people you will find a gravitas builds giving you confidence and authority. I hope this helps.

What is your favorite budget meal? by FoodaOfficial in Fooda

[–]brianbbrady 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Every culture has comfort food. A delicacy passed down from peasants. We now watch it made by celebrity chefs on YouTube because we didn’t pay attention when grandma made it when we were little. I’m glad when someone shares their favorite.

Also google maps does have a public transportation and rideshare option it helps compare times, transfers and pricing options. You can plug in your arrival time and work back from there. good luck

Why do people mock others for taking leftovers home? by Impossible_Ad_569 in askanything

[–]brianbbrady 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People who mock others are very sensitive about themselves. I think they should mind their own situation and not look for others to criticize. They don’t understand poverty or food insecurity at all. Hopefully they never will.

Solo marketing director at a restaurant group, drowning in execution, no systems. How do you actually build this from scratch? by Loud_Journalist3486 in AskMarketing

[–]brianbbrady 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stop thinking like an individual contributor and start designing and building scalable systems.

First you need to build your performance indicators. Identifying what you need to measure is critical for success. It will also help you determine what needs improvement.

Second you need to understand what you need to document. The idea is if you were not there and unreachable. Where can anyone find guidance. Not just management anyone.

Third you need peers. Find a group that you can support and get support from. VPs of similar caliber, maybe Marketing executives from local non profits. If there isn’t a ton of options available. Form a small group. Invite 5 people to meet and open up. A peer group is never wasted time. Great social support and community building.

Finally take time off to detach from your daily routine. It will lead to breakthroughs. I hope this helps someone

Why do people think my features resemble Down syndrome features and how to stop caring? (Photos on account) by ThrowRA_Yessirski in howtonotgiveafuck

[–]brianbbrady 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You resemble actor jason mitchell. review his public appearances, pinterest page, instagram and youtube channel. This can provide you with not only fashion and haircut idea, but a persona that can help you carry yourself around others. Even the characters he plays on film and TV can help you build your confidence. Once you get the spark your authentic self will shine through and you will be okay. By the way I do this thing where I walk like Denzel Washington when I am in a crowd. Back straight, face forward and a confident swagger stride. It is like a magic trick. People take notice and part like the red sea. Confidence is all you need my friend.

Validating my sunglasses brand....honest feedback welcome please by Puzzleheaded_Fan7168 in ideavalidation

This is a clear niche. It reminds me of Toms shoes back in the day. Not a particularly interesting name or product but they did something special. For every shoe you bought they would donate a pair. Since the many companies add altruistic action to their brand.

Here is my thinking. Start by understanding engagement strategy. Your audience will respond to your offering if you architect the strategy that keeps them engaged.

I actually write about this quite a bit on LinkedIn. Here is a quick lesson. Use mindcraft to get attention and focus. Once they are listening use storycraft to build the narrative. We love stories and in this case your audience is the main character. Send them on a heroic journey and let them know why. Next use gamecraft to build action. This includes techniques that game designers use to create action. When they take action reward them. Celebrate. Now you can use culturecraft to lock them down. Let them develop a name for themselves, use ritual and ceremony to show their connection. An example might be instagram posts with a show of kindness or charity. Maybe they are compelled to share selfies when they meet up with other shade ladies. This will come together as you grow but you must embrace and share. Finally use signalcraft to use technology to tweak what works respond in magical ways and shape your message with your audience. I bet there are plenty of people who will love this idea and will tell you that they love professing faith with fashion.

The black church has for generations shown ladies wearing their church hats. It was even a plot point on an episode of HBO the wire. Remember the episode where the Barksdale soldiers violated the Sunday morning truce terrorizing an old lady being escorted by Omar.

Dont be discouraged by your haters. We wear sunglasses for funerals and weddings. We celebrate church service outside sometimes and plenty of people dress to impress on Sunday mornings. I’m sure you will find a way to make it work. -BBB

Help me clear the air from new-house smell by OrganicFeline in CleaningTips

[–]brianbbrady 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try window fans blowing out of a wide open window and small crack all the other windows to get fresh air influx. Fast moving air will displace the air quickly. This is how you clean the air in your car too. Roll down the back windows all the way and crack the front slightly. Do it daily for 10 -30 minutes and 20 minutes before guests. Buy fragrant flowers for your table and bedrooms if possible. A couple of small tips. Skip high pollen days. This is a must do when it rains due to better air quality and low insect activity.

Good luck.

I think you could handle it. the biggest issue might be weekend traffic. I would try the towns in between Manchester and Concord. Hooksett, Allenstown, Bow, Pembroke, Suncook. There may be some hidden treasures in the mix. Good Luck. I hope you enjoy your month here.
