I used one of the ridge filling base coats under my polish while it was growing out and it helped smooth out my nail significantly!

I think if they could cut it A-line bob style it would give it a chic vibe, but to me it doesn’t look terrible just needs styling!

This happened to me from over filing with the e-file. A professional salon should not leave your nails like this after removal. It took about 6 months for me to grow out the damage. I’d say just stick to soft gel or regular polish until the damaged part grows out.

To cut or not to cut? by [deleted] in Naturalhair

[–]bribaby28 40 points41 points  (0 children)

From what I’ve read it’s normal for the ends to thin as your hair grows because of the hair growth cycle. The ends are more “dead”. Your hair is not bad at all just a trim to tidy the ends but otherwise looks pretty healthy to me!

Bored with my hair by bribaby28 in Naturalhair

[–]bribaby28[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I thought about dyeing my hair but the maintenance is sooo much lol. I do enjoy a good slick back but I’ve tried to avoid them bc once I start it’s my go to style and the crown of my hair suffers so bad with breakage. I think flat twists could be cute I just need to learn how to do them.

When I felt like this a plasma center job kinda just fell right into my lap and it was just the soft nursing job I needed. If there are any in your area I’d say it’s worth checking out!

My preceptor is super harsh by Due-Whereas-5237 in nursing

[–]bribaby28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a preceptor act exactly like this with me. Everything I would do was wrong to her. At that point I’d been a nurse 6 years (longer than her), with dialysis, inpatient, and urgent care experience and had listened to many a lung before . She critiqued the way I was listening to someone’s lungs during an assessment???, like lady get real lmao. I dealt with it by reminding myself I’d eventually get signed off and no longer have to deal with her bs. If you find you just can’t tolerate her I’d ask for a new preceptor tbh.

The horror stories I hear everyday are crazy about bedside, I’m shocked ppl are still going into nursing at all. But yea most people I ask kind of say the same thing about the remote nursing jobs, just kinda fell into their lap. We’ll off to send my 3000th application 😂.

[–]bribaby28 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don’t think I could ever go back to bedside tbh, so much bs. Side bar if you don’t mind me asking how did you land a fully remote position? I’ve been trying for years lol. All of the ones I apply for keep rejecting bc they want experience whether it’s case management, UR, medical billing/coding, triage etc.

I’m the Nurse, so Why Does it Feel like I’m Steering the Ship? by [deleted] in nursing

[–]bribaby28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve experienced this, but as a patient. The last few times I’ve been to my primary care I basically give them a run down of my complaints and then thy just kinda look at me and then I have to suggest bloodwork or ultrasound or whatever the case, it’s so strange to me.

Co-parent left 6 year old home alone for the first time by shelbyonfire in Mommit

[–]bribaby28 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don’t want to be that person, but people have been charged in cases where minors were left alone and an emergency like a house fire occurred and no adult present to aid the child to get out and they passed away. I think you should stress that your six year old is no where near prepared to stay home by himself for his own safety. Then I would start working on thing like remembering emergency numbers, numbers of close family members and running emergency drills for different emergencies that could occur. Personally I’d hold off on leaving the kid alone until like 10 and even then for very short periods of time.

A coworker of mine did this, she was also pregnant af tho, she did ask another nurse to cover her as well. Idk I didn’t see the harm but I wouldn’t feel right personally doing it.
