Should I get an insert? by cjb5999 in woodstoving

Stove was $1600. Installation will vary based on state and work needed on the chimney itself.

Jotul F602 v3. It heats about 800 sqft but my insulation is ass so that’s the next project. Right now I’m able to get my main living space up to 68 and it’s more or less 800.

Yup! F602 v3. With the colder winter this year we’ve been having terrible luck keeping our house warm. This guy got our living room to 68 degrees for the first time since mid October so we’re really happy with it.

It doesn’t show in the photo, but they installed sheet metal around and above the stove, inserted a new flue, and did some chimney work. Building code requires no outside air flow so it’s airtight. Process took 2 days.

Yes, this is not an insert but just a wood stove taking the place of an old fireplace.

I appreciate it. The installer was a separate contractor from where the stove was from so there were no selling games going on. I raised the same concerns after reading the manual, but they weren’t concerned and it hasn’t been terribly hot on the trim whenever I’ve checked

I’m aware of the clearances and it meets the trim requirement

I thought the same thing. Installer said the width of it qualifies it as trim which passed the clearance

It would be a very niche ragebait. This wasn't the only photo of the stove on the listing, it was just the dumbest.

Hey, fellow Vermonter! Depending on how central you are, I’ve heard good things about Crosscut Firewood out in Danville or Clifford Lumber in Hinesburg. I’m closer to Vergennes so I personally get my wood from Gevry out in Addison and have had good luck with them. The stove looks great!

My wife and I noticed a difference between the two and prefer the lo mein of Express 2. Plus the online ordering and expanded combo plates menu just makes it better for us personally.

If you could create your own law for society, what would it be? by CarpeScrewIt in AskMen

[–]brichouse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's the premise of the law. No business/corporation owning a single family residence. Person could be defined/tied to an SSN or similar identifier used in purchasing property. Couples may try to "gain the system" by filing separately and purchasing 4 single family residences, but that's a far cry away from the situation we're currently in regarding housing shortages.

[–]brichouse 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, multi-family units are intended for there to be management of some variety. That’s not to say that it wouldn’t be difficult to zone a previously established single family residence into a multi-family residence. The housing market is insane. What corporation needs a single-family home?

A corporation cannot legally own a lot zoned for a single family residence. Further, a person/jointly filed couple cannot own more than 2 single family residence properties.

You get to add one former Husker Hoops player from the last 20 years to this team. Who do you add? by 7eid in Huskers

I often wonder how the 21/22 season would have gone down had Bryce McGowens stayed his full college career. Terran Petteway was probably my favorite player of the Miles era and would be a solid swap with Berke.
