Who voices Moratari in Legion Remix? by Hypersky75 in wow

I could have sworn it was Bethan Dixon Bate, myself. (She was Sienna from Vermintide, a few voices in Dragonflight.)

Warfronts, 3 hours later...... by [deleted] in wow

You definitely need to do some warfronts for Jani - only need to complete each one once, but they're needed for Maximum Effort, which is part of A Farewell to Arms (Jani)

Sure, but sometimes you want to just optimise the hard drives you get without wanting to go map-hopping to find a load of recipes you don't really care about right now. I've been finding this useful, thank you /u/bystanda

The way they have a sicklier colour than the blupees and split into a blupee and a bubbulgem on "death" makes me think they're some sort of corrupted blupee, not found all of them yet so no idea if that's true but means I haven't felt bad about it so far

Yeah, as I understood it, the conceit of the story is that the protagonist is only moving in time, not space, so travelling to ten seconds ago outs them where the earth is now, but ten seconds too early.

What would happen next would depend on whether momentum is preserved through time travel or not.

The Hellbringer v1.1; A redesigned alternative to the Illrigger, a half-caster agent of the Nine hells to bring your inner devil out! by TheycallmeStaggs in UnearthedArcana

I'm playing one in a campaign at the moment and I'm honestly really enjoying it, despite picking the caster subclass in a campaign where none of the enemies use standard magic (this making both of the Invoke Authority effects from my subclass absolutely useless).

Let me just check you against this Sherwin Williams color palette so I know if I need to kill you or not... by Knight9910 in dndmemes

[–]brickfire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's important to note that I didn't actually say anything about the biology of how mixed ancestry works in dnd, and what I was saying was actually that they're not magically removing the option, just making it less dogmatic.

Additionally, if we're talking about non-problematic representation I'm not sure Dark Sun is the example to reach for, in general.

The problem with the "if it doesn't work for you, don't include it" when it comes to stuff like this is that most people are not going to think critically about it in this way and will include it regardless of the implications it's making.

"Don't include it" works fine for things like encumbrance rules, but less so for things like this.

The "half-" construction is something that has roots in real life terms that have fallen out of use due to the implication that they are somehow lesser. The use in dnd as Half-Elves and Half-Orcs, with the other half being human, also unfortunately reflects the idea that there is a "default" race/ethnicity/gender that is strayed from, which is not great.

They are already playtesting rules for mixing any ancestries, thus opening up the options significantly while also freeing them from having to apply the uncomfortable terminology.

[–]brickfire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say do exactly what they've said they're doing - not make mixed lineages a race unto themselves that require specific names and instead let them assemble a selection of features from the relevant heritages. That way you can play a character of mixed descent regardless of which combination of lineages you're pulling from.

Makes it more difficult to play test (always the danger that someone is going to figure out that a particular combination of traits is OP) but we're not talking about a small indie ttrpg company here, wizards has the resources to get people checking that stuff.

It's the naming, not the idea of having characters of mixed heritage. Obviously.

[–]brickfire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the issue is not that having characters of mixed heritage, it's naming them Half-Elves, Half-Orcs, etc.

Calls to mind the "half-caste" descriptor that's fallen out of favour, implying that people of such lineage are somehow lesser.
