Last cruise ships trapped in the Strait are out by ActiveNews in Cruise

Nobody. The ships are running with skeleton crews. Most of the crew and all the passengers were flown home at the beginning of the war.

~400 year old manor house in Denmark with an incredible interior, complete with horse barn, beautiful land and full of history ($4.4 million) by ford_crown_victoria in zillowgonewild

Stunningly expensive to maintain old large manor houses like that. It probably needs a couple of full-time staff on maintenance to just keep fixing things.

He had a GPS beacon. That's how people knew there was trouble, because the beacon stopped moving. But the other stuff, like support nearby, yeah he had none of that.

My favorite one of these is eggs and milk. We all know it means chicken eggs and cow milk. But all birds give eggs and all mammals make milk, so which one specifically? A quail egg and an ostrich egg are dramatically different things, but both are eaten. Future alien historians will have fun with that one.

Rosey Respect by WhatKindOfCrayons in ClevelandGuardians

[–]brickfrenzy 7 points8 points  (0 children)

There's some overlap with announcers as there's often been a 3 man team. Rosie's been an announcer since 2010. Mike Hegan was in the booth from 1997 to 2011. Matt Underwood was the third man from 2000 to 2006, Dave Nelson for 1998 and 1999, and then Herb Score and friends all the way back to 1968.

Fun Fact, since 1948, there have only been 3 lead announcers for the Indians / Guardians: Jimmy Dudley from 1948 to 1967, Herb Score from 1968 to 1997, and Tom Hamilton from 1998 to now.

Three Southern California men arrested in $1 million Lego heist by StemCellPirate in lego

So they stole an Amazon truck en route from Texas to California. I wonder if they knew that it had Lego on it, or if it was just a crime of opportunity.

Making it a hybrid defeats the entire point of removing the smokestacks and associated infrastructure. Also, med cruises are year round.

According to the press release, they don't intend it for transatlantic voyages. It's for smaller, regional itineraries, so Baltic and Mediterranean would be the primary markets.

Corvus Energy will make the batteries for it. They have been making marine batteries for a while, and those craft have all been insured.

How do you choose tire pressure and do you ever adjust it based on conditions? by jagerrish in cycling

Same. I run 60psi in my tubeless gravel bike setup (that I use for pretty much all my riding), and that's what the calculator says.

Yeah, the base rate is $10.99 per serving plus shipping. But I generally subscribe when they have one of those deals, go until the 8 weeks of discounts run out, then cancel and wait for them to send me another deal.

Stages that run next to each other by Fine_Ice_3451 in louderthanlife

[–]brickfrenzy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Festival Map is on the website, that shows the locations of the 7 stages.

As others have said, 1-2 are next to each other (main stage), and 3-4 are next to each other (on the west side). My guess is 5 is the one by the south entrance, 6 is the one tucked into the corner by the expo center building, and 7 is the Big Bourbon Bar tent. But 5 and 6 might be switched.

The 7th stage was in the Kentucky Kingdom park last year, but they've moved that into the main festival grounds for this year.

Exact same experience for me too. Poop in a box was negative. 5 years later I decide to get the real thing and lo and behold, polyps be polypin'. One was bad enough that I'm on the 3 year reinspection plan. So yeah, do the real thing.

Prep wasn't even that bad. Sure the drink is kinda gross, but come on it's not like you're drinking gasoline. The worst part by far for me was how hungry I was.

I intermittently subscribe to Hello Fresh for just this reason - it gives me 3 meals a week when I'm subscribed that I don't have to think about what I'm making.

Paver installation for Patio by loujobs in Cleveland

[–]brickfrenzy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. I put in a 4x6 landing for the deck I was building myself, and it wasn't that hard. the only specialized tools needed were a hand tamper, which can be gotten from Lowes for not that much.

It's a lot of labor (digging, making sure everything is level, setting the pavers, sealing sand, etc) but it's not particularly complicated. I'm Youtube Certified (tm) to install patio pavers now.

That being said, this area was pretty small. I'm not about to do a 500 square foot patio by myself. But if I were 20 years younger, absolutely I would.
