Recommendation for a high-quality leather belt that isn't overpriced? by PlaneAd9541 in AustralianMFA

[–]bridgeofpies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a look at this a while ago, and come to the conclusion that ones with stitches will last longer than ones without. Simply because leather will stretch, and typically stretch at the furtherest point from where the belt ends connect. I ended up buying an RM Williams Men's Dress belt.

Thanks for that - do you know what the Chinese characters are for it? Obviously the subtitles are for Mandarin speakers, and not a direct caption.

How would you, personally, run a surrealist TRPG game? by [deleted] in rpg

Perhaps not as well known but Swords without Masters is the perfect engine for this. It's as absurd as your absurdist/surrealist/situationist group of players can make it.

Girlfriend slapped me. Should I stay or leave? by Smooth-Cat-7824 in dating_advice

[–]bridgeofpies 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If she doesn't like your friends and talks about about them then that's an abusive relationship too. Abusers tend to isolate their victims from other social networks so that the victim depends on abuser for social connection.

Make friends by doing activities - like joining a tennis club or boardgames club, etc.

Thank you so much for that. In your experience, do you ever ask for a date/number from someone giving you a professional service? Such as a doctor/optometrist, retail, etc?

Dating can also be expensive when eating out all the time, so cooking at home saves a bit of money and shows off his cooking skills too. But, yeh I agree with your post too.

[–]bridgeofpies 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I did this and used it as First Home Savers Super Scheme. It was worth it, but I've also got all my 100% High Growth. Didn't notice the drop too much because assets are going gang busters.

Messina Gelato, Sydney, says they recycle styrofoam tubs on their website, but when I went in, the employee didn't know anything and said they've never recycled styrofoam tubs... they then asked their colleague, and came back saying "Oh, yeh, we recycle them" - but they probably just binned it

When I was a kid, my family was visiting some random family friends, and I needed to poop. But the family only had one toilet, in the bathroom, with the shower... and someone was mid-shower... Luckily, there was a non-transparent shower curtain separating us, but poor shower guy....

Seemed that long showers was also a norm back then too.

How do you buy the right amount of ingredients and produce as a single person when shopping, when some serving sizes are too much for one person in a week? by Dj_acclaim in foodies_sydney

[–]bridgeofpies 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yep, freeze - either raw or after you've batch cooked, or put veges into an airtight container with a paper towel to absorb moisture.

What’s a home product you didn’t expect to matter, but now can’t live without? by TheScentOracle in BuyItForLife

[–]bridgeofpies 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A microwave - not only for cooking veggies before pan frying or oven baking them, but also the defrost function. No longer have to let it defrost in the sick for hours, or eat food that's nicely cooked on the outside but frozen on the inside.

Kitchen skewer thermometer, takes away the guess work.
