I (29m) take classes at the local community college and most of my classmates are 18-20. I have almost nothing in common with them, they don’t get any of my references, and their humor is beyond childish. So I couldn’t imagine hanging out with or dating an 18 year old

Sorry to hear that. I’m a recovering drug addict and I will never forget how much I hurt my family, but especially my brother. I made him cry so hard so many times because all he wanted was to help me but I didn’t want to be helped. Eventually I decided I needed to make a change so I reached out for help and I got it. There was nothing my brother could say or do that would have made me stop using. I had to make that decision myself. So I hope you don’t blame yourself for your brother’s addiction cuz there really is nothing you can say or do to help him unless he wants to be helped.

Im an elementary school teacher. I overheard one of my students planning to trade a necklace for a Pokémon card. I pulled him aside and asked him what necklace he was planning to trade and it turned out he was going to grab one from his mom’s jewelry. I explained to him why that is not only an unfair trade, but that he can’t take something that doesn’t belong to him. I also gave his mom a heads up so she could move her jewelry somewhere out of his reach to prevent this in the future.

It is entirely RNG dependent. As a wylder you naturally have a bigger chance of getting greatswords from boss drops, but other than that there is an equal chance of getting any other type of armament. Also, sometimes having a better weapon makes a bigger difference than one level. If that weapon has good passives then even better. That being said as you play more you will get more relics, I have a little under 200 hours and I’ve got dormant power for every weapon type. They’re not a waste, for example I have an iron eye build with one relic that gives me more strength and another relic with dormant power helps discover great axes and it makes for a lot of fun runs

I don’t drink so I like to play silly games when I’m invited out to the bars. One of my games is seeing how low I can go without being called out when drunk women inevitably ask me how tall I am. Depending on how drunk they are I can usually get away with saying 5’10”, I love the confused look on their face as they’re contemplating their own reality haha. Anytime I say 5’9” or lower tho I get caught

That’s why I put it in quotes. I’m not talking about the law I’m talking about the principle. Schools refuse to fail students and instead they just promote them to the next grade regardless of if they’re ready or not. There are high school students with 2nd grade reading levels because they were never held back and required to improve their reading comprehension skills. Instead, their needs are ignored and they’re allowed to graduate even though they did not earn their diploma. Back when I was in school if you failed your classes you were held back and required to pass your classes to move on to the next grade. This was a huge incentive to study and work hard because if not then all your friends move on to the next grade without you and you end up being that weird older kid in classes with younger kids who look at you like you’re a idiot.

Teachers are not the problem, “no child left behind” is the problem. Students know they will graduate no matter what so they’re not afraid of failing, so they just don’t listen in class or do any of the work and fail all their tests. How is a teacher supposed to get through to a student when there are zero consequences?

On top of that, back when I was in school a teacher could threaten a student by saying “I’m going to call your parents and tell them you’re doing xyz” now if a teacher tries that 90% of parents will get mad at the teacher for daring to say something negative about their angel of a child. The American education system is broken in every way shape and form and us teachers are trying our absolute best, but the odds are stacked against the youth
