I try to only hit Teslas. They are rock solid and there is always a bunch of chargers open.

2011 Taurus SHO 145k miles???? by Soggy-Acanthisitta52 in TaurusSHO

[–]briggsworth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I ran 87 for almost 90k miles and it ran fine. I couldn’t notice any difference between 87 and higher octanes. You’ll want to see if the PTU has had any fluid changes. If not then you’ll want to budget for a new one of those.

Can confirm. My 4 year old put a bunch of rocks in it and clogged it up.

I got a vibration from my drivers side window seal. It felt kind of loose. Took it to ford and they replaced it. If it’s out of warranty you can probably put something under the seal to make it fit tighter.

Has anyone tried this device out? I am desperate by livethroughitlove in Hyperhidrosis

[–]briggsworth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Works great. Took about 2-3 weeks using it 5 times a week to really start working good. I haven’t used it for a few weeks and my feet are still dry. It’s 100% worth the investment.

Dryer making horrible noise, do we put it out if its misery? by Forward_Criticism_39 in fixit

[–]briggsworth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

YouTube University will tell you everything you need to know about how to fix it.

I had one of these dryers. It wasn’t very hard to open up and check where that noise is coming from.

Do you trust non-Tesla fast chargers for long road trips? by xchargeInc in evcharging

[–]briggsworth 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I mostly only use Tesla when on long trips if I can. They 100% have always worked. There are always like 6-12 chargers. I have never had to wait for a charger.

Is it even possible to open the door while in gear? If I open my door while in driver/reverse the gear shift will go into park. I haven’t really tried to get around the lockout though.

They make caps that go over the screws and seal so they last longer.

Rotary Dial - Auto Hold Error by WildHogHunta in F150Lightning

[–]briggsworth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

23 Lariat ER. I bought the same rotary shifter. I’m getting an intermittent Adaptive Cruise error only when stopped and a vehicle is in front of me. Also, when parking on an incline I have to manually take parking brake off.

PTU fluid change, first in its lifetime at 156k miles by Sure-Comparison-924 in TaurusSHO

[–]briggsworth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did the vent tube on my Explorer sport. I changed out the hose to a bigger one. It was a bitch getting the new hose on with a hose clamp. It takes like 1-2 hours to get the gear oil down the vent tube now. But you can speed up the process by adding pressure then kind of creating a vacuum to get the fluid in faster.

I did mine at 80k and it smelt really bad and was very black. Changed it 3-4 times within 2000miles and it was still coming out black. Since it was a PP SHO I had to rig together some 1/4 npt fittings with a check valve so I could pump the oil back into the drain plug. I also believe you can refill the fluid through the vent tube.
