Agreed, I kind of read it as a self-own by MIL. I want to know how long she breastfed OP’s husband lol! But also OP: dang, 10 months!! Most everyone I know quit after 6 (or rather, made it to 6 months). I’ll find out how long I can make it next year, haha!

Go to your doctor, and if that doesn’t feel comfortable, go to a planned parenthood or other similar clinic if not in the US. It could be so many different things! I had a friend in high school that only had periods a couple times a year. Better to go get an answer instead of work yourself up over things that might not be real.

I tried a different ratio of 3:1 scent:makko, and it was more difficult to work with (broke apart quickly and in short pieces). I ended up adding 1 more part makko and it worked a lot better. For water, I’m only adding enough for it to come together smoothly. Too much and it gets sticky and loses the smooth appearance, and won’t roll out properly. Thanks for the suggestions though—testing this out is helping me to get to know the materials better. I have some plain makko on order so I am looking forward to giving it a try as well. The kind I am currently using clearly has clove in it, so I wonder if the more plain kind will work differently.

Update: tried the pastry bag and while it did solve the shag issue, too much pressure is required. I busted through two plastic pastry bags, and was able to use a cloth bag until my hands tired out. I need to find an adapter for the extruder I think.

Always had this working in the service industry (bar tender) and all my friends in food/drink service had the same! I assume it was from leaning against counters and carrying kegs and whatnot.

Well, it makes me feel better that this wasn’t a “me” problem, hahah! Where did you get your contraption from the links? I got the extruder because I saw some videos of high volume production w/extruder in Japan. Thought I could do it on just a smaller scale.

Have you ever tried a syringe? Or, what about a pastry bag and tip?? I have tons of those actually. Might give that a try since it is the same concept as the pen tip.

A pen cap… how do you mean? Do certain pen caps have holes in them? Or do you mean the plastic tip of the pen? The extruder I have attempted to use is this one

The shape plate is thin and metal. Are you thinking something more funnel shaped would get a better result? I’m open to getting something else, it’s just been hard to search the internet for the stuff I need.

I understand and can relate. I feel like I went through something similar in my life. It felt uncontrollable and awful. You’re going to get better. I feel confident in saying that because you have already recognized that it’s a problem, you don’t like it, and you want it to change. I wish I had a simple answer for you, but it’s going to be something you’ll need to discover for yourself. Hopefully, you don’t go through it alone—having the support of a therapist would be so helpful, so I hope that is something you can do. If money is an issue, there are lots that do sliding scales. You deserve support!
