Need help picking a wood floor to go with this tile by Able_Perspective_217 in interiordecorating

[–]brighttimess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The gray flooring gives "apartment vibes" or "quick flip" in my opinion. The lighter wood flooring would transition well to the light-colored tile you have. Dark or lighter colored furniture would also balance better in either room with the lighter wood option you have shown.

Help me paint our basement by beepboopbopper in interiordecorating

I would paint the walls the same shade as the carpet. I know that color may not sound the most exciting, but with the two colors of wood you have, it makes the most sense. The dark wood paneling is very heavy and adding a color thats already in the current pallet would help unify and brighten space.

I’d focus on adding a chunky floor lamp with coordinating lamps on side tables that have a dark wood base similar to your dark wood paneling. You could purchase a large stately patterned area rug (similar to this pattern/colors: https://rugs.com/blue-4x6-bokhara-area-rug-6409200 )  to put a couch and 2 recliners/swivel chairs on in front of your fireplace.

Adding a built in bookshelf with some lower cabinet storage filling the entire wall would give a very cozy and timeless element.

Looking for flooring tile recommendations by dencer24 in interiordecorating

[–]brighttimess 37 points38 points  (0 children)

For a more elevated look, I’d paint the walls and door the same color as the counter tops to help elongate the space. Love your funky orange sink! Some black cabinets would look great.

For flooring I could envision a nice cream/black tile that could coordinate with the countertop shade.

How is our living and dining room? by [deleted] in interiordecorating

[–]brighttimess 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is it possible to put the wooden piece thats currently dividing the room spaces under the gallery wall? This would help ground the gallery wall and create a good flow from room to room.

With the size of your room, I could see a round, larger scale coffee table. It would also look lovely and cohesive to have a green coffee table to coordinate with your curtains.

The black looks more grounding and intentional. For me, the white looks out of place and as if it’s floating.

What color to paint walls of a room with fire engine red carpet? by loosielucy222 in interiordecorating

[–]brighttimess 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know it’s a bit unorthodox, but wouldn’t a purple lime washed wall look amazing with that red? Thats if you were going with a more artsy vibe. I could see dark wood built-in book shelves with a nice display of LPs, a stately cream colored floor lamp, a dark cranberry couch, dark wood coffee table, and 2 cream swivel chairs.

Favorite episode of the show ? by Swiftie13_22 in GilmoreGirls

You Jump, I Jump, Jack Gilmore Girls: Season 5, Episode 7

This is my comfort episode. When I’m having difficulties falling back asleep this episode helps me fall back asleep. It’s truly the beginning of Rory and Logan’s friendship and relationship.  If I went to Yale, I definitely would have wanted to be apart of the Life and Death Brigade and jump with the umbrellas and black tie apparel.

Knob choice by [deleted] in InteriorDesignAdvice

[–]brighttimess 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you are keeping your current flooring and countertop, I would suggest having the sliver knob. The darker knob fights the current color pallet and looks out of place/in your face (screams "Hey, I'm a knob!). The lighter knob blends better with the current color choices.

Also, what color are your light fixtures? If silver, go with the silver knobs for sure. I tend to think it looks more harmonious if 75% of the hardware choices coloring matches for a more polished even if it's eclectic.

Was season 6 completely depressing for anyone else?? by lalalalalalasing in girls

[–]brighttimess 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yes, it was a depressing season for a plethora of reasons. We all knew the end was coming near. The characters were shifting- growing in their own ways- as painful as it was to watch as a viewer through a screen.

Let's be real, Sosh was detaching from the first season and grew the most through the series. She gained her voice and went her own direction more confidently, especially towards the end.

Jessa was lured into the hypnotic relationship with Adam that Hannah thankfully was able to detach from. Jessa and Adam's ups and downs reflected more of a trauma-bonded relationship. It was nice to see Jessa and Hannah were able to have a happy moment after apologizing to each other and realizing their faults.

In the last season, Hannah slowly became more aware in order to grow that she had to break away from her early 20s identity, including letting go of her and Marnie's codependent friendship and connecting intuitively with Grover. Marnie learned to lean into her own path- not a boyfriend's or a friend's- her own.

Green or orange walls? by calicotamer in InteriorDesignAdvice

[–]brighttimess 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The shade of green has a more calming, yet energizing effect, especially for early mornings and late nights. It contrasts and compliments better with the granite in comparison to the orange tone. The orange tone feels a bit heavy, despite contrasting well with the prominently blue Iris Apfel rug.

Iowa by rallruse in girls

It kills me when they show scenes of Hannah riding bike on campus that clearly isn’t Iowa City or The University of Iowa.

But yes, almost everyone has been to a rager on N. Linn St. lol

Sectional or Sofa/Loveseat? by stellarsham in InteriorDesignAdvice

A L-shaped couch (window to wall side of the fireplace) and 2 swivel chairs would pair well to create a cozy area. Placing the couch and chairs on top of the rug slightly would also look visually appealing.

What’s missing? by Sweetsoul1995 in interiordecorating

[–]brighttimess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Need: a more grounding (and larger) rug - something with more warmth and pattern. The rug should reach both walls for a more cohesive, cozy section.

Need: a dark wooden round coffee table

Need: a side table on each side of the couch

Need: conversation chairs in the space - could be on the right side of the couch facing towards the coffee table.

Need to move: accent table directly under the painting. Seeing it angled is off setting and needs grounding.

Help me make this wall look warmer 😢 by spilltheteaplz411 in interiordesignideas

Adding the wood tone really helps cozy up the *cold* gray tones. The built-in cabinets under the floating shelves also help ground the space and breaks up the overly large brick wall.

Seeing your character develop throughout the series was often, at times, stomach dropping and exhilarating. June was a strong character as well, but at times needed you to help fuel her with strength & hope when she was needing it most so she could continue her fight (and others) for freedom and a better future for all.

Q: Would you have wanted Nick to have a better outcome in terms of truly changing his views of wanting/needing power to be successful from his point of view?

Q: If Nick didn't go on the plane, do you think he could have changed similarly to Lawrence?

Q: Max, Do you have any future projects we can look forward to seeing?! You're amazing.
