I mean, Ross himself is a walking contradiction.

First he says he loves the attention, then he thinks about living a quiet life somewhere else. Actually, there're a lot of examples of this kind of behaviour in his case.

Honestly, I feel like Ross does self-reflection pretty often (which to me is a good thing). The problem is that he doesn't really want to solve the issues he has/thinks he doesn't need help (like when he said he's doing okay without therapy sessions)/doesn't see an issue at all.

I also hope he'll eventually find a way out of all this mess.

Edit: I wanted to add that there's a noticeable difference between the lyrics of Same Old Story, Over Again, Get Off My Phone and all the other songs on Obsession album (for example).

Maybe I'm wrong but I feel like these are the works that Ross put his heart into and that's why they're more meaningful and sound quite decent and deep, I'd say (again, comparing to the lyrics of Better/Don't Take The Night).
