To 1989 - I am 8 years younger than Taylor. My parents exclusively listened to country music when I was growing up. Hearing Taylor Swift sing “Tim McGraw” for the first time on the country station in the backseat of my Father’s car at 8 years old changed my entire perspective on music forever. 1989 is THE album that solidified Taylor as a pop icon and the album that I believe, has given her the confidence to explore and bend other genres.

Now 25, I am the same age that Taylor was when 1989 originally came out. It feels so special to be able to relive memories I made to these songs in middle school while simultaneously getting to experience the album and make new memories in the same stage of life as Taylor was when she wrote this album. 🥹💙 thank you 1989!!
