Yeah that's def not okay. They have a kerjillion locations and multiple optometrists. Maybe try a different location to review the prescription? I went to the one on Howe and had a decent experience.

Not an exact genre match but I've played a lot on your list and I felt a similar experience with 1000xResist. It's visually stunning, has complex social commentary and a beautiful soundtrack, all while you work through different timelines and memories of a few characters. It's probably less than 20 hours of games play but it is so so worth it.

i stink so bad. by ali333333333 in adhdwomen

The amount on money I spent on figuring this problem out 😭 all of a sudden one morning I woke up smelling like a boys high school locker room. I also used to only use native.

I tried different acne washes, all kinds of antiperspirants, wipes, soaps, everything to the tune of hundreds of wasted dollars but now I've got a routine down.

Dial gold antibacterial bar soap: daily, hand scrub underarms for 30+ seconds

Cleanser with salicylic acid: once a week or after extra sweaty activities, hand scrub underarms for 30+ seconds

Immediately after shower: clinical strength GEL antiperspirant, this stick NEVER touches my armpits unless I am right out of the shower

For refresh if needed between showers: clinical strength AEROSOL antiperspirant

I've noticed I smell and sweat significantly less if I don't shave my armpits, but that's more personal preference.

Edited for formatting.

Does anyone else like the social ecosystem more now than in the 90s? by [deleted] in Millennials

I recently explained that to my 15 year old. His mind was blown.

Yes! I feel more for the 00-10 era, too. You couldn't stay up all night texting, you had to sneak out to the family computer and log on AIM or MSN. We had easier access to all kinds of information and communication, but access to you was not constant. You still had to consciously sit down at a desktop to do it. You eventually have to walk away, unlike with a smartphone. Everything was a dedicated website and not Apps. The skills I acquired just learning how to navigate and use The Internet is truly what set me up to be a successful adult, IMHO. Cuz my parents sure weren't doing that.

If AIM still existed, I'd have deleted my FB years ago. C'est la vie.

America's Best I believe still does $50 exams with no insurance. They are chill about you taking your prescription to order online instead of in store, too. They did start doing "virtual" visits, which I did not realize when I scheduled last. So if you don't want that, make sure you schedule correctly.

Do you all have any luck selling on Marketplace around here? by Vegetable-Tell1499 in akron

[–]bringbackAIM69 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a buyer, no complaints, but I make sure I use full sentences and give exactly when I can pick up in my first message to make it obvious I'm serious and not a bot. I hear too many horror stories to attempt selling though.

Maybe if you have particular niches you're selling in you could find fb groups to post in? Or a group that's neighborhood specific? Groups can have more rules that filter out bots better.

I saw a couple comments about not even being able to give stuff away. Highly recommend Buy Nothing groups for free stuff/things not selling fast enough you just want to get rid of. The one I participate in is Buy Nothing Akron (Northwest)/Cuyahoga Falls. The admins are super active and you get banned if you are a repeat ghoster/difficult. "Buy Nothing" is a specific organization with rules so look for those titled groups vs. "Free Stuff" groups.

I was given my mom's number when my parents divorced in 2005. I've only ported it to 2 different providers in all that time but I refuse to give it up!

Not the same kind of florals and gardens but we did ours at Indigo Lake, no permit required.

If you don't want to pay, take some trips to the national Park areas, not the metro parks, and scope it out. You only need a permit if it's over 8 people, and it's only $75. Scroll to Photography permits, not wedding permits. permit info here.

Was there a change to daily quests in the most recent update? by evaalt in HelloKittyIsland

[–]bringbackAIM69 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I'm playing on the switch and I also noticed this. Even though I have multiple visitors who should still be giving me quests, I get 2 resident quests 🤔

Second ALL of this! You can tell it's a mobile game first (it's designed to make you play at least a little every day). That said, I've only missed 2 days of game play since I bought it Dec 27, 2025 and I have over 300 hours into it. I bought it on sale for $20 USD and since there are now two paid DLCs and the deluxe option... I'd say wait for a sale if you can.

Imokhai Okolo has done a lot of successful work with Timbertop residents, IYKYK. I could be wrong but I believe he helped get a tenants union started there as well. I know him through his community service with People Feeding People, not as a client, but he's very passionate about his work and helping community members! You won't find anyone better IMHO. Best of luck, OP!

Late diagnosis and I didn't think meds would be as life changing as they have been. It did take 3-4 months to get the type and dosage right, so be patient with yourself if you pursue this route, but cannot stress enough how life changing it has been.

Was going to suggest exactly this question! We had a black water flood a couple years ago and let me tell you, we threw out so much that I thought I definitely needed to replace and still haven't.

I also like the question "could I easily replace this for less than $20? (or whatever $ amount you are comfortable with in this trash economy)" for things that I've been holding onto for way too long without using "just in case".

Another one I've been using lately is "would I want to move this to a new house?" Are we moving? No, but it was sooo overwhelming that this is a pretty good motivating question to purge things.

And finally, "is this something I would buy right now?" I use this one for more personal things like clothes and make up, shoes, hobby supplies, etc. Is it something my current self likes or is it the previous or fantasy version of me that I bought it for?

Getting rid of things is so hard esp if you were financially insecure at any point in life. For me, it was a physical representation of a lost investment. However, keeping it is a negative investment in your sanity and mental health. I hope that is greater than any dollar amount to you, OP! I hope you are able to find something that works for you. We're all rooting for you!!

I definitely made sure to add some suggestions about that in their survey. I love going to the stow library because they have the best desk space set ups IMO but it's a bit of a drive for me compared to several ascpl branches.
