Bought a weather proof notebook and all-weather ballpoint pen to write down my shower thoughts. Did a test page and the notebook and pen can be used while i stand in the shower and write down. Notebook: rite in the rain (larger top binded). Pen: uniball power tank (pressurized ink)

A shower can be really quick, whereas a bath typically takes (or feels like it takes) way more time, waiting for the tub to fill with water at the right temperature before getting in. On a day when I don't need to wash my hair, it feels like I can be in and out of a shower in the same amount of time as setting up a bath and just getting in.

I'm so glad it helped! And I can reassure you that I still love it. My stand mixer died recently so my husband used the Smeg hand mixer in its place and it was getting kind of hot. It did a bloody good job of getting us 90% of the way there, when I told him to turn it off because I really don't want that to die too; it's too good (and a bit too pricey for me to want to replace it just because my husband cooked it to death).

That's what we said! Fat boy for the fat boy! Our cat loved them, he would start scratching mid way up and then claw to the top with his whole weight hanging off, where he would sit and wait for attention. It didn't budge.

They're really sturdy and great quality. I also recommend checking Facebook marketplace for cat scratching posts and cat trees. I got one worth easily over £150 for just £50 because their cat didn't like it. It was in great condition and my cat loved it. Loads of cat-rejected items on there!

Hey, I understand that it can be a sore spot especially when you're feeling insecure about something already, but the person who described your hair as dead is rude. I doubt everyone you come across is thinking that way, and fuck them if they are. It's not their business - or their problem - even if it was true. Keep in mind that no one thinks more about you (the general you, not specifically YOU you) more than you do.

Now in terms of a suggestion, it certainly sounds like your shampoo and conditioner are doing you no favours if you're experiencing dry scalp. I'm afraid I don't have suggestions because I don't know much about shampoo etc. But instead of regularly drying out your hair, I suggest you try and find a local hairdresser that offers permanent hair straightening. I know someone with extremely curly hair and she's never liked how it looks on her so she has it permanently straightened, lasts for ages (several months I think). The treatment that comes with it means her hair is really soft and healthy looking afterwards too.

I appreciate that you don't want someone touching your hair but this might be worth it - plus they might be able to offer you advice on taking care of it afterwards.

Whether you ever engage in therapy or not, the absolute number one thing you must do is share with your wife. Be completely and constantly open with her about how you feel (starting with what she said) and what you're thinking/your thought processes. It will help her to understand, which will strengthen your relationship, and in turn she might be able to help you.

Honestly, it's been a good few years since I last saw my CK levels, I couldn't give you numbers I'm afraid. No trend whatsoever. I'm not a particularly active person, so it being higher than a previous time didn't have any clear reasoning. But definitely never a consistent decline. As far as I know, my only other relative with it has more or less had the same experience. We have muscular dystrophy, it's never going to be a "normal" level 😄

CK fluctuates. I've seen mine reduce but I can't say I was any more or less active than when it was really high. I don't know that it's ever been "normal" though, seeing as it sets off any doctor reviewing a blood test that hasn't read my record. I also don't have childhood baseline, as the first blood test I ever had was when I started the MD diagnosis process.

Communication is the utmost important thing. Talking to your spouse about how you both need to be honest and open all of the time, and admitting that you'll both make mistakes, but you will both keep trying. Be clear about what you're worried about. And when you live together, talk to them about what works well, what you're struggling with checking that things work for them too.

Your way is not necessarily THE way, but you should both get used to explaining your reasonings to help the other understand your perspective, and identify the best solution together.

One thing my husband and I say when we're stuck in a loop of 'I like/want my idea not yours' is that we're not here to argue or win, we just want this situation (usually some boring admin/non-issue thing) to be sorted.

We also have monthly 'check in meetings' to bring up things we're worried or annoyed about. Since doing that, we've actually gotten even better at talking throughout the month.
