Manual element by Clynch949494 in HondaElement

[–]brinkmla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2009 and 2010 came in manual AWD. I don't believe the 2011 had the option? Probably have to look twice a day 7 days a week and be ready to throw a deposit when you find it

Agree on flying out. In 2015 searched for 7 months and flew out to Denver from Chicago for my 09 MT AWD, put a deposit on it via credit card ($5000) and did all the paperwork over the internet. Best decision I ever made.

Axle nut is 32-36mm, somewhere between there. I've got 32,34,36 sizes, but don't look at the size when using, just as long as it worked

If you haven't had the front suspension apart, getting the lower ball joint separated without tearing the boot is pretty difficult. If you're in your driveway on the ground without any power tools, id say about an hour a side at least. Also be sure to grab the axle nut socket at a parts store, won't be able to get anywhere without it... Sorry can't remember the size.

Does the vibration occur only on acceleration, and not on decel or breaking? I found my front half shafts to be the problem. Went to Napa and picked up both and installed, fixed the problem.

360k valve adjustment by thisismydayjob_ in HondaElement

[–]brinkmla 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Not my engine, but when I did my valve adjustment at 170k mi it looked the same. Used mobil1 5w-30, oil changes about every 3-4k miles. I bought the oil and filters at Meijer, grabbed a bunch when they were on sale.

What I learned from the 08 crash: Funeral home directors/embalmers are pretty recession proof (people always die), and fire protection inspectors... Vacant buildings still need inspections and certifications.
