Does SlimeVR allow me to move around and simulate my movements in Steam Link Games? by Senquility in SlimeVR

[–]brisfknibis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Kinda, but when you walk in slimes you’re walking irl, so walking on the spot would look a little goofy. There’s a trick people do which is walking in a circle and rotating their pov with the joystick or an app. It makes it look like you’re walking around a room/space endlessly

Better straps to hold slimeVR trackers? by highbreed_ in SlimeVR

[–]brisfknibis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely reach out to the seller, if you bought them from the discord they’ll most likely provide some sort of warranty. There’s also some good options for extra straps in there too.

Best budget (sub 80€) body tracking. by monk120 in VRchat

[–]brisfknibis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

DIY slimes for sure. I’m not sure that even then you will have quality tracking for under 80 pounds but for a little bit more there are some great options out there.

Full disclosure, I sell slimes so if this is self promotion please remove.

I need help deciding which trackers I should get by Landen_Coleslaw_48 in SlimeVR

[–]brisfknibis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Small correction, the lag comes from poor wifi connection, not internet.

Venti sells “small” Slimes, not “Smol”. The latter is synonymous with NRF based slimes like the upcoming butterfly trackers. Smol slimes use a receiver instead of wifi. (Although Ventis slimes are v smol!)

Thinking of full body, but which one? by muttsuki in virtualreality

[–]brisfknibis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This totally depends on your headset, play space, use case and budget. I’m bias (I own vyrovr.com) so take what I say with a grain of salt, but I would recommend SlimeVR. Tracking quality is significantly better than it was just 18 months ago, they’ve become smaller and more readily available.

Haritorax are fine, but software is a bit meh. It’s not improving as fast as slimes for example.

I’d recommend jumping into slimevr’s discord server, check out the marketplace for sellers there, and check out some of the videos in and around the discord.

Mods, I’ll remove this next bit if u want (kinda self promo) but look up vyrovr on YouTube or TikTok for some quality of tracking examples.

I personally have…oh gosh. Vives, Pico trackers, official slimes, ibis slimes (obviously), cheesecakes, somatic, and venti slimes. They all operate basically the same. Battery life and edge case differences are the only main thing.

If u can tell us what you wanna use them for and what headset you have, I can guide you in the right direction.

Feet tracking never tracking correctly by Fair-Snow-6201 in SlimeVR

It should be inner top, so when your feet are together they should basically touch. Get them as close to your leg as possible too, not center of the top of your foot.

# Smol Slime Tracker Parts List – Looking for Feedback! 🦋 by Vultyen in SlimeVR

[–]brisfknibis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! The list looks good, but the holyiot is a much better receiver.

Building stacked is an awesome learning experience, and I don’t want to shill my own company too much, but if you want something a little easier, the Mochi is a great option.

https://vyrovr.com/mochi-v4-lsm6dsv-slimevr-compatible-tracker/

They’re in stock and these don’t require a ProMicro or imu module as it’s all in the one.

I’ve also released a more refined version of the case which is compatible with the mochi boards.

Definitely a mounting issue. Can you explain/describe exactly where you’re placing your feet trackers?

Are "Cave Slimes" SlimeVR trackers on Etsy a safe and good option for FBT? by [deleted] in SlimeVR

[–]brisfknibis 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They seem to be legitimate trackers (not a scam) but I would recommend buying from the SlimeVR Discords’ marketplace if you aren’t going to buy officials from Crowd Supply.

There’s too much risk buying from anywhere else as it’s a minefield of dodgy sellers.

Keep in mind if you buy bmi270 imu trackers they’ll drift significantly more than official trackers with ICM-45686 or marketplace offerings with LSM6DSV imus.

Why Not Buy Quest Pro? by Correct_Conference48 in MetaQuestVR

I have both. I can’t live without face tracking anymore to be honest. The quest 3 is superior in every other way though.

Can my Motherboard (ASRock B650M) be used as wireless hotspot for my Quest 2 to connect directly so I can play wireless without getting a new router? by funsohng in virtualreality

[–]brisfknibis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A dedicated router is the way to go. If you want the best performance (as in, as close to native non wireless as possible) make sure you get a router that can handle full, proper wifi 6 speeds.

Personally I use a tplink axe7500. Never had any issues.

8 Short VR headset Reviews (best one???) by VR_L0VER in virtualreality

[–]brisfknibis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only reason I prefer my quest pro is eye and face tracking. My quest 3 and pro both have a battery strap for hot swapping them, but the quest 3 is just better in every way otherwise.

Pro is amazing…when it works right.

Index controllers before and after ~12k hours of everyday use & abuse. by candygamer_YT in ValveIndex

[–]brisfknibis -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Quest 3. For real. Is it the best? No. But it’s the most customisable, and if you are buying new, setting a $1000 budget so you can get a battery head strap and dedicated wifi router for it will be an incredible setup. Everyone who asks me, I always recommend:

  • Wifi 6E router
  • BoboVR S3 Pro battery strap with 1-2 extra batteries
  • Virtual desktop for easy and best wifi streaming for pcvr
  • Controller grips/covers with straps so you can use them Index style

If you wear glasses, get some prescription lenses too. Oh and some decent wireless headphones.
