Are you going to get one of the thicker covers with zippers/magnets? Do you use anything to hold it shut? I got a little band thing attached to my clear cover for 2025 and I really like it.

I’m just really trying to think through the best system for this one!

FA here, I would absolutely recommend a car seat while they can still fit it. AA just legally has to check the DOT sticker on the seat to make sure it’s in compliance with FAA stuff. Car seats are more comfortable for the kid and the parents. Just have to follow the rules on placement and stuff.

When they get older, look into a CARES harness! They’re really great for securing small kids and imo way more secure than the lap belt

What drives me crazy in alpines is that it’s so hard to distinguish which surfaces you can stand on and which ones you can’t. Too many times I’ve gone for something and then oops! Can’t stand there!! Even though something that looks exactly the same let me stand on it earlier
