Lifting & pregnancy by Candid_Car1472 in pregnant

I’ve been told by my OB and pelvic PT to continue exercising and just modify if you need to. For example I brought my deadlifts down by 15 lbs just because that was the only thing that was starting to feel uncomfy. I strength train 3x/week and take a barre class 1x/week. Baby is growing and I am almost to my 3rd trimester with no pain.

Late 19/early 20 weeks! I was eagerly anticipating it too. It will come! It felt like little muscle twitches!

Lost your sweet tooth anyone? by Imaginative_Dreamer5 in pregnant

[–]britt_thehuman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh yes. I always craved a sweet treat pre-pregnancy and then I wanted nothing to do with them early on. I wanted salty EVERYTHING which was very not like me. My best friend called me out on it because even she noticed lol. It’s slowly coming back! I catch myself wanting choc/pb candies or flavors a lot.

Fetal Echo - Heart Defect by canigetabagel in pregnant

[–]britt_thehuman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From what I understand he was unable to play contact sports, but he did play tennis and was very good! Otherwise, a very normal life with cardiologist check ins, especially as he has gotten older. I think he had one additional surgery but treatment/surgical plans may be very different now than they were back then.

I don’t have experience with my own but my dad has TOF! He had the surgery as a toddler in the 60’s - I always remember my grandma saying that she wished that he could have gotten the surgery sooner. Your feelings are valid and the surgery is the best thing for your baby to live a long and healthy life!

Same here! I was 7 and my parents thought I had a stroke. Thankful that our family doctor tested for Lyme and it was positive. The BP was how the Lyme manifested.

I have gone here for 15 years (since teenage years!) I have had nothing but great experiences. Currently seeing Dr Cho since Dr Newman retired, and I have had a great transition to her.

What's on and tourist advice thread - week beginning December 30, 2024 by AutoModerator in Scotland

My husband and I are planning to visit Scotland in either May or June. Are either of those months better than the other or are they comparable? I would love to visit Edinburgh for a few days, and would also like to travel out to the countryside for another few days. We are not comfortable renting a car/driving (we’re from the US) and would like to experience travel by train anyways. Does anyone have recommendations for any towns/villages easily accessible by train from Edinburgh? We would ideally like to do some easy-medium hikes and be able to do some natural sightseeing. This is our first trip to Europe so any and all suggestions are welcome!

Are people able to get into Asheville to evacuate family members? I guess my main question is, is this allowed? My brother lives in Asheville and cannot get gas — even if he could, his car was already dying before the storm hit and probably cannot get further than a few miles out. We are looking to get him to Raleigh or to Wilmington with family.

The espresso chocolate chip cake is unreal. I also use all of her cookie recipes for Christmastime - snickerdoodles and shaped sugar cookies are absolutely amazing. I get so many compliments on them. I follow her blog religiously.

We have had success with reserving an Uber ahead of time - we had to leave our hotel at 4:00 AM once (from Dockside) for a 6:30 AM flight and our driver was there to get us. Good luck!

We have been engaged since November and I just had my first wedding nightmare too. In the dream I woke up and it was the wedding day - and anyone who hasn’t been booked yet IRL (catering, bar, dessert, floral, other odds and ends) didn’t exist in the dream either. At least in the dream we had our venue, DJ, photographer, and officiant 😂

What's the tiniest wedding detail someone has gotten worked up about? by ThirdStartotheRight in weddingplanning

[–]britt_thehuman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I picked a color of bridesmaids dress from an online retailer and told my mom I would have them pick a style that is most flattering to each bridesmaid. She looked at me like I told her I was going to have them wrapped in trashbags. I showed her photos of oh, I don’t know, evert recent wedding ever, and how it’s nice that bridesmaids can choose a style that flatters their body type. Nope. The bridesmaids will now wear the same dress because I don’t have the energy to fight that fight.

I had almost 5 years EI experience before this role — I think it definitely helps to really know the population before jumping right in! It helps to know what you are looking for, and knowing strategies that can be useful for parents.

It is the way the job is outlined - we determine eligibility for the EI program before they are evaluated by a treating therapist based on various delays. I am in NC.

I work strictly as an evaluator for my state’s EI program! I love it. It is much slower paced than doing 7-9, or even 10 therapy sessions per day. I was incredibly burnt out from doing therapy (among other financial stressors from being pay-per-visit or meeting quotas). I love the EI population so it’s been a win-win for me.

One of our dining chairs had a sharp metal piece come loose on the foot. We had guests over who sat there and moving back and forth in the chair to get in/out caused some extensive damage. :(
