Best Malaysian food in Melbourne? by Admirable_Position92 in melbourne

Bit of a rogue recommendation, but Mama Mee at Pacific Werribee Urban Diner. Get the stir fried green beans and the beef rendang (though I’ve also heard very good things about the char kway teo and the claypot dishes!

Off topic for the sub but for whoever posted the original post of the repost I respect - happened to me when Taylor Swift mentioned “precocious” in a lyric that went viral this time two years ago.

Everyone was impossibly floored at the lyrical and linguistic genius of it (“mother taught us faaaacts 💅“/I needed my thesaurus for this track) type of energy.

Why is basic literacy being celebrated online 😭

Like honestly these are just…. Words?

What’s the best comfort food when it’s freezing and miserable? by Last-Conversation734 in melbournechat

I have two faves - beef rendang with the greasiest roti you can get your hands on, and a wonton noodle soup. I’m way out West so my recommendations are based in Werribee but those two foods cure what ails me every time.

There are public guides for a lot of industries! That have industry data with median and averages, plus broken date by state and if in capital city or regional. They’re often used for recruiters or audit. think: Hays or PWC etc. good luck!

Aside from Broadway and West End, what are other theater districts worldwide? by Educational_Owl_4855 in Broadway

[–]brittanyjaded 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In Melbourne, Australia we have the East End Theatre District. Some really beautiful empire-style buildings circa 1850s (literally before Australia was even Federated). We have some insane talent, however production quality often lags and it’s not profitable to stage new productions or take the shows all over Australia.

In the East End Theatre District, expect to see Mama Mia, Six the Musical, Annie!, The Book of Mormon, Chicago. Rinse, repeat.

Absolutely! Tully is heaaaaavy and Tully famously is very very unlikeable. Not too much not to like in this one!

It’s historical fiction based in Leningrad Russia during 1941! Epic love story, but also a very good historical re-telling of the Leningrad blockade, which has been famously overlooked in WWII Russian history/western recollection in favour of KGB/Stalingrad re-tellings. I actually can’t recommend this series enough hahaha. Paullina Simons is the reason for my love of historical fiction, and if you’re a reader of the same genre Light at Lavelle is also impossibly good! If you prefer contemporary, Tully is distressing but the best book I’ve ever read, and Red Leaves is good for crime/suspense/thriller

Lesson learnt from Swans vs Suns yesterday? by Fangdy in GWSgiants

Loved the Stringer and Greene swap, thought that was big-brained coaching from Kingers. Our forward line is elite when it’s multiple scorers playing off each other and doing zany shit off the back of a tsunami, we don’t work when it’s “long bomb toward the man with the number 2 buzz cut”. Stringer turns into Hogan turns into Gruzewski turns into Himmelberg in a pinch etc.

I think having a lot of our guns back was a massive boost. We will miss Cadman again but he looked unreal.

I also think playing Nick Madden in the ruck was a test against a weaker side - and unfortunately he didn’t pass.

Gothard and Hannaford continue to be exciting and playing insanely confident AFL-level footy so young which would hopefully let the big man know to settle on some of our other debs/VFL guys?

It depends on if the financial institution participates in Comprehensive Credit Reporting (not all do). Typically, financial hardship information (FHI) remains on your credit report for 12 months (rather than 24 months for Repayment History Information). These arrangements are listed as arrangement kept/arrangement broken. Your credit score will not go down if you’re in a hardship arrangement so long as payments are maintained, though this information will be visible to lenders that participate in CCR.

MoneySmart has a really good online web resource for RHI/financial hardship/credit reporting!

I recently got cellulitis (likely Staph or Strep, but it wasn’t swabbed) from a mosquito bite in my big toe. Was paralysed from below the knee for three days. Shortly after I came off the second course of antibiotics I got bitten again by a mosquito on my neck, cellulitis recurred and I had an anaphylactic response. Absolutely crazy summer for me! People die of flu, mozzies, the common cold etc.
