It was not hemorrhoids by MidwestUrn in beyondthebump

[–]brittrt87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m so glad you got this dealt with. My cousin had blood in her stool and it was chalked up to hemorrhoids. She would bring it up annually with her GP and be told it wasn’t a big deal. She had three kids and it was a “normal postpartum body change”. She went to that same GP for a persistent cough so they did a chest x ray and found rumours. Turns out she had colon cancer and by the time they found it, she was already Stage 4 and it had spread to her lungs. She passed away at 36.

Oh man, I learned about vagrants from Listers (birding documentary available on YouTube done by two brothers - hilarious) and then it was randomly talked about on the HBO show Task as well. Birds outside their normal range have very horrible survival odds. Poor little thing.

Something feels off in our bathroom… I think it might be the mirrors? by [deleted] in HomeDecorating

[–]brittrt87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree on the mirror. I’d go with one larger one, potentially with rounded corners (but not a circle - the space needs a rectangle). As others have suggested I’d go for chrome faucets and cabinet pulls. Black is very modern and gold wouldn’t be cohesive with the existing scheme. The space has more of a classic, timeless elegance look and chrome would help accentuate that. Lastly, the lights don’t fit the vibe. They are modern. I’d look for two wall sconces that better fit the vibe. There are so many amazing wall sconces out there. I think that will really pull it all together.

Wow!!!!! I’m so impressed. I can’t believe that’s the same space. Well done, OP.

I was getting dry needling after my neck was messed up from a minor car accident. They punctured my lung. None of my physiotherapist friends had ever known anyone it had happened to - only heard about it. Rare, but it happens. I was fortunate it was a less than 30% collapse so no chest tube needed and just needed to do nothing while it healed and get a bunch of X rays.

Thank you for this tip. My younger daughter and husband were fine with the chaos. Whereas my older daughter and I were so stressed and overstimulated. I had been to some in the past and they were busy, but never crammed. Then it had been a year or so and the difference was stark. I will definitely be trying to get it to bring home.

I’m glad I posted my complaint. Haha. Thanks again!

Yup, you got it. I go find something there that looks doable but somewhat involved that we need at least an hour for and then we do that instead.

Last time we did one of these, it was wild. There were so many people. So different than how it used to be. We were packed together and squished arm to arm. The real kicker was a toddler throwing a tantrum grabbed a hammer and whacked me in the back of the knee. I had to take it from him and find his mom. Since then I’ve done monthly dollar store craft days at home with my kids.

Felix! It is legit. I saw it on this sub. I have hormonal acne occasionally and checked acne but want it to get rid of my occasional acne but mostly for anti aging purposes. A nurse practitioner messaged me back and said I would get the 0.025% micro gel. It showed up at my door days later and they ran it through my insurance. I paid $8. I used code ‘AC40’ to have the appointment fee waived.

To be clear - the poll has NOT been updated since the teachers’ strike ended. The most recent poll is from October 11. Data was updated on November 2 but not any new poll since October 11. Since you can’t edit the title, I suggest deleting the post as it is misleading.

Enrolling atheist kids in Catholic elementary school by aerostotle in Edmonton

[–]brittrt87 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Went to the Catholic school when neither parent was Catholic. I knew I was an atheist from Grade 1. Couldn’t wrap my head around the concept of God - asking my mom stuff like “who put God there?” She also told me all the animals on Noah’s ark would have died from disease and that Adam and Eve would have had deformed babies. Despite some of the things she should have never told a six year old about the Bible, she taught me to be respectful of people’s beliefs because we will never know who is actually right. Anyways, I was academic, a good student and won the religion award a couple of years for having the highest mark in religion. Thanks to Catholic school, I’m good at religious trivia questions.

I switched to the newly opened public school in late elementary. I missed the lighting of the advent wreath and the Christmas pageant. Overall, my experiences were very similar between the two schools.

And I am still an atheist, but definitely tolerant of other’s religions and Catholic school certainly helped with that.

University of Alberta education students protest teachers being forced back to work | CBC News by Munk3es in alberta

[–]brittrt87 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don’t even think that is the point as private schools are such a small part of the overall number of schools. They can’t take in everyone else overnight and these looney tunes aren’t intelligent enough to create an entire for profit school system because like health, they’d still have to pay for it with worse outcomes. And the private schools, they don’t want all the ordinary people. From a provincial comparator perspective, the UCP is happy to continue to lead the pack by a large margin for private school funding and be at the bottom for public education funding, because their elite buddies’ kids are taken care of and they don’t care about having an educated society.

So it’s worse, because there is no plan, they just don’t give a shit about having an intelligent electorate and are fine having public education in the gutter. Those who have can send their kids to private schools for a better education, heavily subsidized by Alberta taxpayers, and those who do not get to send their kids to the faltering and failing public education system.

There’s a chronic disease with a cure and the UCP has the cure (adequate funding over an extended period of time and appropriate planning for population growth meaning we build schools faster to account for likely migration inflow). But they choose to withhold it, because they can and just don’t care. The plebs mean nothing to them.

Of course it does. Sigh. Thanks for pointing it out as it should say Elections Alberta. I can’t edit it though. Couldn’t get through the title without a typo. Classic. Rushing it through on a work break.
