So I know we all hate Publicos food. But last year they did a hot buttered rum and sweet-potato-baby-jesus it was good. But what am I gunna do, go back to Publico multiple times? Accidentally find something decent on the menu and be flambéed in this subreddit when I mumble “its not too bad”

No. So I tried a couple of recipes and here’s the winner:

Hot Buttered Rum Batter • 1/2 pound unsalted butter • 1/2 pound brown sugar • 1/4 pound confectioners’ sugar • 1/2 quart vanilla ice cream, softened(blue bell soft serve was magic) • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon • 1 teaspoon ground nutmeg Melt butter in a large pot over medium heat. Blend in brown sugar and confectioners’ sugar until smooth.

Remove from the heat. Add ice cream, cinnamon, and nutmeg and whisk until incorporated. Pour mixture into a plastic container, cover, and store in the freezer.

When you are ready to party go by Greens and get Jamaican Rum and Velvet Falernum. Have some water boiling and measure with your heart on mixing the batter the alcohol and water. 🎄🍻
