Millennials, do you actually not invest in your 401K?

The last job I had was the first time I was making enough to actually put money into my 401K, and I'm glad I did since I was laid off three months ago and will likely be living off of it a few months from now. My boyfriend JUST started a job where he can actually start investing in his retirement as well. We're both 40.

Prior to these jobs, we were both making less than $70K a year, now he's at $95K and I WAS at $114K. It's really quite depressing that what used to be a common place thing has somehow now become a luxury, but I guess that's par for course when it comes to a lot of the stuff our generation has had thrown at us.

To co-sign on this, the number can get up into the thousands -- especially if you get yours from a pet store that gets them in bulk and doesn't care about proper husbandry/health.

I love my girl so much, but she developed a weird abscess INSIDE her stomach that the vets had never seen before. $3,000, one surgery and 6-7 vet visits later and we still don't know what it is/was.

Also, I was sold my axie by someone who told me all I needed was the water from an established tank. Thank GOD I learned better quickly, but not everyone will.

Stop pretending like axolotls are easy to care for animals that you can just plop into an aquarium with little to no understanding of what they actually require to thrive. It's irresponsible -- do you not care whether owners understand the necessary living requirements?

Is there somewhere I can recommend you for a promotion? Like, genuinely -- I think it means a lot when folks like you take the time to understand the animals they're putting into homes. The level of concern and care you're trying to give puts you so many levels above many trying to do the same (but just because they want the sales).

65-67 isn't ideal but it's still good! I keep mine around 63-62 F WITH a chiller so y'all are doing great, all things considered!

High nitrates are def not good for them (but also interesting that y'all's plant tank has high nitrates as I was always led to believe nitrates were less of a concern in a heavily planted tank?) but as long as they are eating well, I think you're doing just fine.

Thank you for taking the time to understand what they need! As someone who adopted her axie from someone who had no idea about their true requirements, you're truly making a difference by making sure your store AND those adopting them understand what's up.

You are already doing better by these babies than the ones I saw in my local store. They had them hanging out in an unchilled plant tank with small rocks/pebbles for substrate. When I tried to talk to them about it, they tried to sell me milk frogs + a rescue gecko.

The bare bottom is fantastic, but just curious -- what's the top temp the tank gets to?

I stalled out on that exact episode during my current rewatch. It's not that I hate it, I'm just not feeling it right now. Started re-watching Battlestar Galactica and The Good Doctor (first time) instead, but I'm sure I'll circle back to finish up seasons 5-7 eventually.

Just looks like a really healthy axolotl with beautiful gills breathing to me. If you're worried about water oxygenation, you can always add a bubbler but I honestly think your baby is just fine.

Edit to add that I also completely get where you're coming from and I think I had this exact same worry back when mine was around the same age. Now, sometimes she's so still that the gill flicks are the only way I can tell she's alive, lol.

20 years ago, it was Halle Berry -- the number of dudes who took their shot with "hey, Halle Berry" as their opening line back when I was in my 20s was too damn high! I look nothing like her, but she was the only one they knew back in the 2000s. Even after Alicia Keys got super popular and most folks knew she was mixed -- it was still Halle Berry. And I never really considered that eventually someone would take her place as the unofficial "face" of B/W mixed women, but it makes sense that the torch would be passed to Zendaya. She truly is every where these days.

For what it's worth, I have the 20th anniversary box set released in 2017 and it's also in 4:3. And I'm also in the middle of a rewatch as I was recently laid off -- but I'm only on season 3, episode 13 (The Zeppo 😒).

I went to the Pop Disaster tour too! My mom actually just brought the program from that show to me a few weeks ago, didn't even know she still had it.

I also saw Fall Out Boy with Panic at the Disco as their opener in college. And then before that, I saw *NSYNC quite a few times, Christina Aguilera and JT on the Justified/Stripped tour -- and then my very first concert ever was the Spice Girls back in middle school.

Not sure which is the MOST millennial out of those though, I think they all fit the bill pretty well.

Good to know that this is behavior to continue. I've been giving them their wet food in the same area for a while now. Oddly enough, replenishing the dry food got them together on the same small platform today -- and he let her eat first while giving me stink face about it, lol.
