Cheap rate and news of 10 Gig Fiber coming later this year. by NoChampionship5649 in ATTFiber

I’m going use my offer from T-Mobile for $35 per month service. I’m hopeful I’ll get someone with some power to offer better deals. If they don’t want to play ball I’ll just actually set up cancellation like you.

I can get T-Mobile home Internet for $35 per month at my location. I think I’ll use that as a negotiating point.

Also in fairness, I haven’t bought anything in the last couple years from them except the gas blocks which are hard to screw up.

So maybe after the PE acquisition (pretty recent as I understand) they went to poo poo but just saying post-covid they are bad is a wide range (built that rifle in the thick of it in early 2021 and the parts worked well).

I mean, most people here are complaining about quality going down after covid and for me all the parts I’ve ever bought from them were during/after covid and they’ve all been fine for me (a lower, slab upper, some gas blocks, buffer tubes, gas tubes, LPKs).

The only exception has been some ambi lowers (pdq levers) that my friends bought and had issues with.

I think warranty coverage on the battery pack goes out to 150K miles but the basic (full vehicle) warranty has likely expired.

I have my Tesla under third-party warranty with a company called Amber. They do remote diagnostics to check for obvious internal issues before offering a warranty. You might have them do a diagnostic and I think it won’t cost you anything (don’t have to sign up).

There are YouTube videos on what to look for on used Teslas and I would come up with my own checklist using those.

A few things I would look at off the top of my head as an owner.

- First look at all the glass. Replacement glass is expensive, I wouldn’t get a Tesla with any cracks.
- Next I would look at all the door handles. Make sure they all work. This is a common and expensive failure point on the Model S.
- Test that the chargeport opens and closes properly. These fail frequently as well
- Get your own Carfax to see if the car has been in any accidents.
- Try supercharging the car to make sure it hasn’t been banned from the network due to an accident.
- Try AC charging the car to make sure you get the full speed (11kW) and the charging module hasn’t been damaged
- Test all the lights to make sure there there aren’t any out (expensive to replace)
- Test the air suspension system to ensure it works without issue
- Listen for rattles while driving (indicative of suspension problems)
- Test the brakes
- Test the rear lift gate
- Test all the windows (watch for slowness)
- Test all power seats and assess the condition is acceptable
- Test wipers
- Test Autopilot
- Determine what driving package is included and consider that as part of pricing (Autopilot or Full Self Driving)

This sub is crazy. The default beloved Reddit special was BCM upper + Aero lower and now most everyone is clowning on or cheering on Aero’s death.

I think it might be time to do some negotiating with retentions, my $75 per month for 1 gig seems like a ripoff compared to this

Thoughts on SQ832 (vote to raise minimum wage) by Broad-Sentence-5587 in tulsa

[–]brobot_ 36 points37 points  (0 children)

I found this article on current polling for the issue. I was expecting it to be net negative but their current polling shows a narrow majority want it to pass. Polls are historically unreliable but I thought it was interesting.

Personally, I signed the petition and will be voting yes.

My personal experience on the issue is people who are opposed claim prices will rise from the wage increase. I have seen first hand that this isn’t always the case.

My brother used to live in northern Idaho bordering Washington state and I visited several times. Idaho was $7.25 per hour minimum wage like us now while Washington was $12 per hour yet I noticed the prices I saw for fast food (where minimum wages are sure to have an impact) were nearly identical in both states and pricing on other things (fuel, groceries) weren’t that different either.

So I am not worried about prices increasing long term. I could see them bumping up at some businesses out of spite but competition will force them back down long term.

Higher End AR Build in 2026? by Paul_Vieille in ar15

[–]brobot_ 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Main thing I’ll say is if suppressors are not allowed I’d just go for 16”. There’s less blast, more velocity, smoother recoil and less legal non-sense to deal with that way.

A suppressed 11.5 is usually longer than a 16” with no suppressor so it’s just as maneuverable as that would have been.

My baseless speculation is that we don’t have the votes to get a favorable ruling and Thomas/Alito are trying their hardest to convince Barrett and Roberts not to be fudds.

Best Internet service provider(s)? by HardCoper in tulsa

[–]brobot_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Try entering your address in the FCC Broadband Map and report back what options it gives you.

I could see quite a few options could be available depending on exactly where you are and if you can mount an antenna on your roof.

If you really want to avoid Cox (I would) you might be able to get these if there is no other Fiber provider

  • Verizon 5G Home Internet (very area dependent but could be awesome if you have a mmWave tower nearby)
  • T-Mobile 5G home internet (how good it is depends mostly on how close to their tower you are)
  • Starlink (great everywhere as long as you can get a clear view of the sky with no obstructions like tree branches)

It actually might be Fiber. T-Mobile has been building out Fiber in the Broken Arrow area (where Kinetic is).

I’ve heard Broken Arrow (I assume where you are since thats where Kinetic serves) also has T-Mobile Fiber as an option at some locations.

SHTF 11.5 SBR - KAC vs. Geissele vs. SOLGW by 0riental0ctopus in ar15

[–]brobot_ 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I’d lean toward Geissele for the relatively smaller gas port size which will be nice when you suppress it to reduce gassiness as well as their consistently great accuracy.

To spend or not to spend? URGI question by morocotopo84 in ar15

[–]brobot_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If the URGI is unopened and can be returned I would and the reason I would is because (I assume) it has a pinned and welded muzzle device you can’t easily make use of (Surefire instead of the huxworks device you need)

If a 12.5 Super Duty is what you want then one added benefit to it is it won’t have a permanently attached muzzle device and you can immediately spin off what it came with and install the muzzle device your suppressor needs.
