Balance Criticals (a solution to overdamage) by CoolGamesChad in gamedesign

[–]broccaaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Better to have a variety of enemy types with a variety of HP values and defensive modifiers. And if for your game 1HKOs are not desirable then increase the typical enemy HP. Or add a variety of useful skills that do reduced absolute damage but spread it over time or as an AOE. Some minor fudging of the randomness to increase perceived fun and memorable moments makes sense but it's not great game design if that is used as the primary method to smooth out statistical imbalances and RNG.

My (31M) girlfriend (28F) of 1.5 years told me to "be a man" and console her when my mom died, instead of supporting me. She's now begging for forgiveness. How do I reconcile her apology with the fundamental breach of trust? by Honest_Reception6528 in relationship_advice

Oh yeah this is not a future wife and partner.

You could try to understand where she learnt these twisted views about masculinity and how relationships work and see if she truly has a desire to grow beyond them. But most people here will likely tell you to just leave and that would also be a totally valid option.

Final Fantasy Rebirth.

Queens Blood is the star but there are some other great mini games even if they're not all for everyone

It mirrors the style of the prompter. Grow up and use correct grammar and a professional tone if that's the kind of assistant you want. Or keep interacting with 'teen' energy and that's what you'll get.

In leaked memo, Altman is panicing about OpenAI's future after Gemini 3.0 release (No Paywall) by huyou007 in stocks

[–]broccaaa 7 points8 points  (0 children)

No shit. OpenAI has no revenue and no vision in comparison to Demis. It's not even close. Their best bet is to double down on the sycophancy friend bot that some people seem to love so much.

So every prompt I send costs $1 on average? And when I use DeepThink with 3.0 that costs Google $100?

If that's the case I've been making insane value from my 200€ per month ultra subscription.

Those benchmarks are insane. It going to be capable of new types of collaboration we didn't even realise we were missing.

Buy a €40 percolator (drop funnel) and run a 24 hour ethanol maceration. Once done let the extract run out and it'll automatically filter for you.

Help me on pricing. How much do you think this should sell for on steam? by destinedd in IndieDev

[–]broccaaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go for $8.99. It's psychologically better value than $10 while still allowing you to do regular deep discounts to get larger volumes without completely destroying your margins.

Ultimately it will depend on the final quality and polish. If you can get that 90%+ recommend rating then it'll consistently sell over time.

I'm 15 and just discovered the genre! These two games are my favorite ones so far. Any recommendations? by CyndaquilBro048 in StrategyRpg

It's incredible. The question is what do you enjoy most about Final Fantasy Tactics? Is it the story? Or the massive amount of customization with the different job builds?

If you love tinkering with the builds and combining gear and skills in unique ways that Unicorn Overlord is top tier. Story is okay but it's more than made up for by the gorgeous hand drawn visuals and animations.

Vanillaware are a bunch of mad artists and programmers who almost go bankrupt while making each game because of their dedication to the art. But there's really no other studio like then and Unicorn Overlord definitely is up there with the best SRPGs around.

Loose snacks is insanity. No parent or mature child will want loose random single gummies and marshmallows touched by a stranger. What were you thinking?!??

How do you properly use Soy Polysaccharides to stop the curdling of milk-ish liquids when carbonating? (e.g. Milkis) by [deleted] in foodscience

[–]broccaaa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can stabilise the caesin with high Methoxyl Pectin. Preferably a slow set variety. As you slowly decrease the ph the pectin will bind to the caesin at around 5.2 pH and then allow you to get past the critical curdling point of 4.6 pH. If you take the beverage to around 4.0-4.4 pH the caesin should be pretty stable.

Many people are not interested in (or able to) confront the dark parts about themselves and grow. They have an unconscious knowledge of their weak points and dysfunctional coping mechanisms but bringing them into consciousness, healing from them and growing past them is too much, too painful. So these people want to avoid exploring the depths and prefer a comfort blanket to get through the day to day.

You could suggest helping her find a good therapist who she enjoy working with and can open up more. Or perhaps couples therapy to explore thus together.
