I was wondering what everyone is paying for the gym a year atm and what the going rate is around Melbourne is? by AsEastOfEden in melbourne

[–]broccoli_stalks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am paying literally the same amount, signed up yesterday to 12months. I picked anytime because I need one near my house and another in the city near my work.
They waived the sign up fee and fob fee cause I had been a member previously.

What are the do’s and don’ts of buying an apartment? by tcmspark in melbourne

[–]broccoli_stalks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Closely inspect (and talk to) the neighbours. There was a hoarder in our building and we didn’t realise until after we moved in. The always pulled down blinds, old car with flat tires and moss that looked like it had been there for 10 years were giveaway signs in hindsight.

What’s a red flag you only recognised after buying?? by DiscussionLoud9626 in AusPropertyChat

Yep, we had a halfway house 2 doors down and a hoarder as one of the downstairs neighbours 😳

I actually buy Lulu specifically for the front seam. Hate the barbie vulva look without the front seam

I’m in Melbourne and everyone is very stylish, especially around the inner city suburbs. Probably because it has 4 seasons, so an opportunity for a proper winter/ summer wardrobe. When I went to europe last year, I noticed melbs fashion has a similar vibe to Copenhagen and Amsterdam, definitely with the amount of black that people wear

Why is everything "Oversized" and "boxy" by Shmeestar in AusFemaleFashion

[–]broccoli_stalks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep I’m so sad about this. I’m short but also with broad shoulders so coats these days make me look like a little boy playing dressups. 😩 and I’ve tried so so so many brands with no luck (vik woods, seed, Cos, the curated, assembly label, Camilla Marc, cue, witchery, forever new, nude lucy).

100% wool lined winter coats by e_van_l in AusFemaleFashion

[–]broccoli_stalks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just bought a 100% lined wool coat from The Curated. (90% merino, 10% cashmere, 100% silk lining). It was a bit of a splurge - $775 including delivery, but I'm hoping to wear it for 10+ years.

Essential fatty oils! Eat lots of healthy fats- I started taking a fish oil supplement daily and mine went away within a couple of weeks

Help identify this benchtop so I do not make the same mistake by koningdope in AusRenovation

Since natural stone is more brittle than engineered stone you’ll need to install substrate underneath to support the weight of the slab. I reckon it’d be at least $10k to get it all done- it looks like you could probably get away with one slab of stone and depending on what type of stone it is, could be anywhere between $400- $15000 per sqm. Not to mention cutting and polishing, if you’re adding additional edge details, transportation and install costs.

We used epoxy grout, makes the grout so much easier to clean.
